A strange book due to the shifting storytellers. It begins with a woman slipping into madness or a mad woman slipping further into madness, which is not clear. This is told by the woman in the first person. It needs a more skilled stylist than John Creasey (writing as Kyle Hunt) to pull this off. A Kafka, or at t least a Lovecraft is required. The book improves greatly when the other narrator takes over more than half way through, but he does not last long. The first narrator returns for a most improbable ending. What a waste of time.
