The more 'forgotten' heroes of the Golden Age of Comic Books (GA) the more I am convinced that they were 'prototypes' for some of the Silver Age of Comic Books (SA) characters that we know so well. The main story in SMC #2 features Magno (M) the Magnetic Man; who has all the same powers as a much more popular character who will come later: Magn(eto) of Marvel! A PhD dissertation for someone for sure!
