The words within this book reflect the feelings of the writers as they continue to work at recovery from addiction. Some of these women have opened their hearts in these books for several years. They may have lapsed, struggled and returned to start again with a firmer purpose to recover. It takes a lifetime, and, once begun, a person is always "in recovery." Missing from this book is Hannah Beckham, who wrote many poems for the first two books and who died from an overdose after this book was on its way to publishing. Hannah was special. She longed for recovery. She tried and lapsed again and again, but, as she expressed in one of her earlier poems, she was always called back to the streets. She believed in God and that his love would help her change. She wanted to help young women.
