She started the series Lament of the Lamb in Comic Burger in 1996. This series ran for six years and was adapted into a radio play, an anime and a live action film.
In 1999, she began Sing Yesterday For Me, a manga inspired by a song of the Japanese rock group RC Succession. In addition, Toume contributes to a lot of fanzines and specialized magazines, and is also active in video games and films.
Her manga Kurogane and Lament of the Lamb have been translated into English.

Despite not having read volume two in quite a long time and not having read volume three ever, I didn’t have trouble following along with the story thanks in part to Kei Toume’s introduction.
On top of that, compared to the first volume, I really enjoyed this one because it (quite literally) illustrates more elements of traditional Japanese culture such as the showcasing of Chizuna’s bare neck while wearing a kimono and the jelly dessert she and Kazuna shared. While I would’ve liked it if the manga had a recipe attached to it at the end, overall, these small details added more to the story.
As for the actual story, I have to admit that I do feel sorry for Chizuna because she’s been isolated from society for so long. I can only hope that she and Kazuna find some sort of happiness outside of their household in the next volume or so.
All in all, a pretty good graphic novel! I just hope that the next volume would be just as if not better. Once you get past the first volume, the rest becomes easier to digest. I will admit that the plot was a bit overwhelming when I read the first volume. At least the artwork was simple and elegant enough for me to enjoy. I don’t like mangas that feature artwork that is either too simple or too complicated.

this manga is so melodramatic and it gets weirder the more I read it! I'm so hooked on the drama that the weird incest stuff is just gonna have to Be There.

Kazuna has officially dropped out of school, fearing his attacks may worsen and cause him to warm Yaegashi or someone else. Chizuna is slowly opening her heart, though her disease is quickly worsening and the medication she takes is fatally hurting her body. She admits to Kazuna that he is indeed her replacement for their father. Now after seeing how small and fragile she really is, Kazuna has sworn to protect her, even if in the end that will remain his only reason for living.

Heh... I was waiting for this. Sick and twisted brother/sister obsession.
