Living in the bush of Alaska, Chloe Barrant wanted to take care of the animals at her wildlife refuge and ignore the times she shifted into a lynx. Even she knew that wasn’t normal. Little did she know that the day she’d turn away the poachers she’d find a male lynx coming to her rescue. What surprised her even more was when the lynx turned into a man claiming her as his life mate.
Granger, alpha of the Lynx clan, would do anything to protect the Lynx. They’d lost too many members to the hunters who preyed on them. Finding his alpha life mate gave him back dreams for the future that he’d given up on long ago.
Chloe didn’t understand how the other Lynx expected her to fill the alpha role within the clan, when around Granger she only wanted to slip into beta role and submit to him. Could she figure it all out in time to save the Lynx?

Last night I really needed something light and fluffy to read after finishing a bit of a heavier read so I picked up Tagging her Lynx by Abby Woods and since it had been given some pretty favourable reviews I had high hopes for it.
The bad news is this book just wasn't for me. I keep hoping that I'll come to enjoy novella's but so far it's only happened a couple times where I've like the story. This wasn't one of those times but at least I can say that I gave the book a chance.
This was definitely a case of this not being the book for me. The book started off really well but by about 20% in I was getting really annoyed with the book. The two main characters were both too extreme for me. Chloe was far to subservient to Granger for my tastes and Granger was just pig headed. Honestly he wouldn't let the girl work ever again because it's not what the women in the Lynx Clan do. I just felt that the book was very stereotypical of a shifter romance and the x-rated parts were bland and repetitive. I'm not a prude but it just felt as though the scenes were recycled.
I think that if this had been a full blown 200-250 page it would have been a good book because everything in the book happened so fast it would have been much better for me if it had been slowed down a bit and the characters weren't so over the top.
Overall, this book didn't do anything for me but I'm in the minority as there are many people who did like the novella a lot. I would recommend it to people who like shifter romance novellas with extremely alpha heroes and very meek women.
Donna, Dark Divas Reviews--"Tagging Her Lynx is the story of a young woman who has lived a solitary life, partially due to location and partially due to the shame and horror she feels when she loses control and shifts into another form...Granger is an alpha Lynx and recognizes from a distance that Chloe is a shifter as well as his mate. He has a big job in getting her to believe that he is also a shifter, that there is nothing to be ashamed of and that he will be with her forever..The story has a moral about exploitation of the wild areas and the creatures who live there, shifters or not, as well as the significance of forgiveness and belonging. This is an easy reading novella with love, hope for the future and an HEA ending. The sex scenes are m/f, loving, passionate and exciting. Tagging Her Lynx is a story worth reading." 4 Delightful Divas!
Yadkny, The Pagan & The Pen Book Reviews--"Living out in the Alaska bush never sounded so appealing...Once you find your mate everything changes and suddenly life seems a lot easier to live since your now sharing it with that someone special...Abby Wood wrote a beautiful story of self acceptance with some much appreciated sexually charged scenes. Her vision of the Lynx clan really came to life and made it easy to envision being a part of this unique clan of shifters. Ms. Wood did a fantastic job writing those sexually charged scenes by allowing the characters to be more themselves in those vulnerable moments and loose a little self control in the process...Chloe is special in more ways than one, so when her unique ability is revealed I would have liked to see a little more of the storyline incorporate that talent. This is a very well rounded story and some my favorite scenes came after the climax. Readers will be pleasantly surprised by the next turn of events. Recommended reading for fans of keeping warm on cold nights with a hunky shapeshifting lynx." 4 Tarot Cards!
Michal, Gemstone Reviews--""I was instantly intrigued when I started reading this book. From the very first Ms. Wood draws you into the story. She uses just enough mystery and lust to keep you hanging on the edge of your seat and begging for more. The revelation that Chloe was not alone anymore and that there were other shape shifters was a shock and welcome surprise to her. All the little twists and turns that Ms. Woods takes you through are well worth it. I highly recommend this book and would look forward to review more of her books." 5 Diamonds!

The one thing that Chloe abhorred about herself, is the one thing that her life mate Granger loves most about her. Getting her to accept the fact that they're mates is easy enough, but getting Chloe to accept her lynx is an entirely different matter. Chloe is naturally a strong woman, having lived a solitary existence without the guidance of her mother and now father, but the walls she's built to remain in control come crumbling down when she's in the presence of Granger who shows her what it means to be part of a family and to have someone who cares for you. He teaches her how to be stronger and to become one with her lynx which will serve it's purpose as she fills the role of the Alpha female.

Her vision of the Lynx clan really came to life and made it easy to envision being a part of this unique clan of shifters. Ms. Wood did a fantastic job writing those sexually charged scenes by allowing the characters to be more themselves in those vulnerable moments and loose a little self control in the process. In shifter stories it's important to allow the animal to take control every now and then and in this case I really felt that Ms. Wood allowed her characters and readers to embrace that aspect of the shifters dual existence.
The title is humorously appropriate and is explained in the story, but I did find that the description of Granger and who I had assumed was Granger on the cover don't match. Chloe is special in more ways than one, so when her unique ability is revealed I would have liked to see a little more of the storyline incorporate that talent.

The relationship between Chloe and Granger came about rather quickly, but it wasn't totally unbelievable within the context of the story. Their love from one another was less believable. I could understand the attraction, but they claimed love far too soon. Of course, considering that they're mates and the story is only 100 pages I guess it's understandable.
At times the writing and dialogue was kind of choppy, but overall I enjoyed the story.
Tagging Her Lynx is an amazing read. It has action, suspense, romance, the paranormal and love.
Chloe and Granger steal your heart fron the beginning. They fall in love from the start and the rest is just interesting history. It is fun to see them interact and react to some of the surprises that that happen later in the stories.
If you love shape shifters then this is the perfect example of Prince Charming saving Cinderella and they live happily ever after.
A woman who was attacked at a young age by a lynx on her fathers animal refuge kept a secret that she feared would come out. A man who found his mate and vowed to protect her. Hunters that weren't hunting for your average wild life. A story of loss, strength and love! This book has everything you can think a great shifter story would have. I hope it never ends!
