Glenn Cunningham, the dominant mile and 1500-meter runner of the 1930s, is a legendary athlete who overcame severe burns as a child to literally crawl, walk and run his way into the hearts of millions and become an Olympic hero. He established six different world records in the mile, 1500-meter, 800-meter and 1,000-meter distances. His indoor record for the mile stood for 17-years. At the finish of his track career, Glenn went on to establish the Cunningham Youth Ranch where he and his wife Ruth ministered to over 8,400 young people during the next 30 years. But NEVER QUIT is not so much about his victories and youth work as it is about the amazing story of a boy who overcame tremendous handicaps. Burned severely as a child in a school fire that killed his older brother, doctors said he would never walk again, and at best be a cripple for the rest of his life. But his tenacious spirit, the loving care of his mother, and the hard-nosed "never quit" philosophy of his father, brought forth the miracle that was Glenn Cunningham.
