a great book which no one knows about. played an influential role in developing my reading tastes in my growing up years. style of narration is vry intrestng. both the past n th present being told simultaneously.
A fab thriller with good old fashioned power bouts of sex in it. Couldn't be published by a mainstream publisher today due to the sex scenes in the book. But if you love a good thriller then I can recommend it if you ever come across it at a car boot sale or something!
Excellent book ,I am amazed that this book is not available as an e-book . Absolutely enthralling book which I must have read more than 5 times . It gives and idea of how things happen on an oil rig , how the life of an independent oil well owner is , of how just striking oil is not enough you need to process it or you end up penniless with your oil well spouting oil and costing you a fortune without revenue . I could go on and on...coz though it is informative the style of writing is racy .

Just a note. This book almost had me setting it down and walking away. I pushed through because I once had a teacher tell me to read in at least 90 pages before you decide to quit on a book. I am glad I did as the story revealed more of itself, it became easier to read.
One of the finest books I read in that era. Almost in the league of The Day of the Jackal. Gripping and un put downable. Ahead of most Sidney Sheldons ( and they were good).
