Good Dad / Bad Dad: The Do's and Don'ts from the Trenches

Rate this book
Fatherhood 101—without the trial-and-error.

David George’s father died when he was three months old. As the youngest in his family—and the only boy—he had no male role model. When he married, he had two children—both boys. David, an award-winning advertising copywriter, had to figure everything out for himself, asking: “Did I make the right decision?” “Was I a good or a bad dad?”

The result is Good Dad/Bad Dad, a Daddy 101 manual—minus the trial and error. Topics range from baby-proofing your house to setting up a 529 college plan and everything in between. Conversational, boisterous, and sometimes irreverent, it’s like getting expert advice from a favorite buddy, with humor and a whole lot of heart.

"Minhas bagas são azuis" foi a minha frase favorita deste livro. Achei ótimo o livro, me diverti e até li para minha avó, aquela velha rabugenta amou. No final o Pai descobre estar em um paradoxo e isso abre muitas portas para continuações. Lindo demais.

This book had some good advice, but it was mixed in with dubious advice like "Don't Be Afraid to Spank" and "Don't Get A Minivan... Minivan = mini man. Need I say more?"

Stuff like that made it hard to take the rest of the book seriously. Also, none of it was earth-shattering. Almost all the good advice was common sense.

As a dad I felt much of the information in this book was unrealistic for today's world.
