Review Profiles in Freedom

Fantastic read! CH does a great job in presenting a simple baseline of key events in the history of our Republic. As a student of American history, I prided myself in knowing, what I thought, was a real solid knowledge base from the inception of our current voyage to the present. I have to admit I learned several things that I either wasn't familiar with or just blew off. This should be a mandatory read for every American Middle School kid. This current generation of young people have no idea of how our Republic was founded, the struggles and risks valiant patriots took because they believed it was worth it, and how there choices have impacted what we have and how we live today/ well done!

Call I hope you write another one like this. I loved learning, even about people I have already heard of because Carl brought up things and relationships of which I was unaware.

Enjoyed it. I enjoyed the look at various entrepreneurs and historical figures throughout our country’s history and how many of them were connected.

Easy to read. It goes through a short section of various US individuals who have helped form our country. Not just the "normal" ones often talked about. I learned some new things on each.

His narrative just flows along

A refreshing change in style from the usual authors I read. Carl’s prose is so relaxed and informal, I’m tempted to describe him as “Home spun.”
