I was just a normal guy making his way in the big city until I found myself transported to another world to train at the Alpha Warlock Academy. Not only do they want me among their ranks – they want me to train among the most powerful of warlocks at the Academy.
I’ve got a lot on my plate; cramming spells, training for combat and trying not to get myself killed during my initial challenges. Fortunately I’ve also got plenty of friends to help me out, including my hobgoblin neighbor and the smooth-talking genie across the hall.
And as an exceptionally powerful warlock, let's just say that more than one of the Academy's beautiful members has her eyes on me.
But as an Alpha Warlock, I’m also bound to a super-powerful artifact. And this weird object? It keeps making strange sounds, even though nobody else’s does. And the energy contained inside? I’m about to find out just how powerful it really is…
Alpha Warlock Academy features violence, bad language, undefined relationships and explicit sexuality. If that doesn’t sound like your kind of thing, steer clear.
Overall I quite enjoyed this book. Characters had personality and the world building seems like it's going to be interesting. The thing that brought it down was the same thing that often brings down harem novels, and that is rushing the relationships. The first relationship begins quickly, but under the circumstances I can give it a pass. The second one is over the top though. He meets a girl who 'isn't interested in one night stands', and yet is in bed with her within 24 hours, and they're desperately in love the next day? A bit fast is one thing, but that's ridiculous enough to be jarring and honestly dampened my enjoyment a bit for the rest of the book.
The other issue I have is with descriptions. Either the author doesn't know what 'slender' means or can't decide what the first girlfriend looks like. When you first meet her the impression I got is of an extremely busty woman with great curves. Then you meet the second girlfriend who is... way curvier? She doesn't sound attractive so much as freakish. Of course the fact that the first girl is thereafter referred to as 'slim', 'slender', and 'like a swimsuit model' muddies things. She's the girl on the cover - attractive, but definitely not what I would describe as slender.
For all of that criticism though I did enjoy the book and will absolutely read the next one when it comes out.
MC gets sucked into a magic academy where he is sorted into a group of "alpha warlocks". He makes friends and lovers and a few enemies while trying to find out more about his magic focus which is very powerful. Typical wishful thinking book where the MC is easily beating every challenge and gets all the hot girls to build his own harem while his enemies are of course all disgusting people. To this point world-building is rudimentary.
Nothing too special here, just something slightly entertaining to throw on in the background that I will forget about a few months from now. MC is alright, has serious anger management issues and other then that there's nothing too special about him, average intelligence, decent social skills and can fight well, so nothing too interesting, but at the same time not as obnoxious as the average harem MC. I do like that he has more than just female friends, that's a plus for this story, most harems just push away any male friends. World building is pretty weak, nothing too fleshed out other than there's other life outside of Earth and the new planet he's on is basically just Earth with different species and better tech. One thing I can say is pretty shit is the sex scenes, they are so boring I would be surprised if this writer has any true sexual experience, which is weird since he's writing harem. The whole time it was just the FMC's yelling how good he is while the MC is silent and just pumps away without any thought other than omg she's so hot and "boobies boobies boobies", it was embarrassing to listen to tbh. But if you're bored and have nothing to read, go for it, just don't expect anything special here, it feels more like an Eric Vall book, just pure mediocre wish fulfillment without much soul.
I really enjoyed this book it had some good storytelling in it. it's about a young man who joins an Academy of sorts in another world but actuality isn't another world it's well you have to read it and find out. the people are well thought out and describe to a tee as far as being able to actually see them in your mind's eye there is well thought out action and a little bit of Mystery. there is also romance with a couple of spicy scenes thrown in which do not dilute the story. The World building is interesting and I am looking forward to learning more. I enjoyed the characters and the main character which for me makes a good story and looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
Theo is thrust into a into a academy to learn to be a Alpha Warlock if he survives .
Theo was a twenty something year old working 2 jobs to pay rent an living on his own after his only relative just passed away . One night after a late night shift he an his coworker went to a event after closing during the way a group of cultist was selling tickets for a chance to touch a totem . His coworker paid five dollars for him to touch a leaf that was suppose to be a totem as a prank . He touched the leaf an was transported to a different world across many galaxies . recommend reading excellent book .
But wow, this was great so far. I loved the first few books of tribe master by this author, but when he disappeared for so long, I haven't been able to get back into them. So when I saw he's back and there's a new series, I decided to give it a try even though it's not really my usual, and I generally hate this type of series. I'm so glad I did. I hope the MC maintains his current demeanor and doesn't become one of those MCs that ends up being more of a follower like most of the time in academy stories. I'm about to start book two now, and I hope you also give this series a shot.
This is pretty average all things considered. Typical harem fantasy protagonist with secret op abilities he didn’t even know he had. Worldbuilding and magic system are there, if not overly developed. Characters are well fleshed out, but relationships come way too easily and thus feel shallow. His group of best friends, that support him unconditionally, are his neighbors and knocked on his door on the first day. He has three girlfriends by the end, that all love him very much after only a couple of days. The tests and subjects were nice.
All in all, a feel good magical harem adventure, that wont leave you disappointed but also wont amaze you.
Come on people you need to read a nd review this authors works!!! As always this is another fantastic fantasy adventure, full of wonderful characters, excellent use of magic and adult fantasy activities throughout!!! You really will be challenged to find another fast paced well written and edited story as this authors works!!!
I'm annoyed by all the "BAM" "BANG" "BOOM" that he does. The dialog is a little weird, oftentimes going off on pointless tangents (it's kinda awkward). The pacing is off, and there's no primary point of friction - just some bullies that are not much more than a side note. The story itself is entertaining enough despite some boring sections, but I won't be reading the next book.
Really enjoyed this book. The characters are diverse, but work well together. The story moves quickly and there is plenty of battles and excitement to keep you turning the pages. Yes, the women are what dreams are made from. Where can I get a dream like that??
I fully enjoyed this book. The up to date concept of life out there, was great, my only question is that, are all alien girls built like earth girls? Maybe through in some thing strange in the next book. So looking for book two.
I didn’t expect to like this as much as I did. Normally warlock and magic related academy books are overdone and lame but this one was actually good. The ending was fun and lots of mysteries to come. Excited for the next one
Had a few unexpected twists and turns but they made the story more compelling. Enjoying the main character and his developing strengths while he holds his friends as the most important part of his life.
I really loved the story and how the character progressed. I loved the different story lines totem, crazy cult and Theo’s mysterious bloodline. It will be fascinating to see what happens next!
I really enjoyed reading this book. I tore through it. It was fun and entertaining. The story and characters were interesting and engaging. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what happens next. This book is absolutely worth checking out.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Just as much as any of the tribe master series. I sincerely hope it runs as long or longer. I sincerely hope all of you out there enjoy it just as much.
A good start to an interesting story. The characters are fun and interesting, definitely want to know more about them. I c an not wait to see what Theo doe?s next.
Dont read this series. Noah Layton as an author has a habit of not finishing stories or series. Just jumping from one book series and starting new ones.H3 hasn't completed a series yet.
