It took a single moment for Juvia Smith’s once perfect and happy life to be altered. Left to pick up the pieces, she finds herself sinking in the aftermath of her trauma, unsure of what the future holds for her. A single act of kindness from a stranger by the name of Desmond Jones offers her not only a new perspective into her plight but a fresh start as well.
Ms. Ash Ley, I have to say I really enjoyed this novella. It is amazing how much time and the right person in your life can literally change your life. Desmond came into Juvia's life right at the right moment. He may have been a stranger but at that point, he seemed more like an angel. If I could give Juvia any advice, it would be the infamous quote by Maya Angelou. "When people show you who they are, believe them the first time," is what she should have done with Carlos. He was the epitome of sorry for how he treated her.
I loved Desmond's vibe and persona. You could tell he was a caring person and gave the shirt off his back if need be. He did step up big time for Juvia and Jules. They practically became a family on day one.
This is a page-turner that will grab your attention. You will be delighted in how everything plays out. It is well worth the read so get into it.
Quick, moving read! I really felt for Juvia after learning of her husband's actions, and the way he treated her after the discovery! When do side chicks get to boss up, and make all the rules huh? Carlos was the worse, a pure fboy for real!🤬 Juvia took her L like a champ, and pushed on with her life. Desmond showed up in her life at the perfect moment, and slowly but firmly planted himself there! He was a Godsend! Although it took her some time to get herself together, and stop pushing him away, Desmond remained and his consistency paid off! Glad both Juvia and Desmond found the love they deserved! 👍👍👍
Desmond & Juvia 💖 I first want to mention… Carlos is a 🤬 boy! Okay, now that that is out of my system 🤣🥴 this was a cute story. So much was packed into the pages but nothing lacked. Right place at the right time turned into a forever kind of love and it was beautiful! Happy reading 💖
I wanted to like this story more, but the story just didn’t come together well for me. I struggled trying to understand Juvia’s reasons for walking away with nothing.. no alimony, no divorce settlement, no house, no car.. like, huh? That didn’t make any sense, especially considering the reason behind the demise of her marriage.
Besides all that, I found the writing to be a bit amateur in character development, storyline, details, and supporting characters. Besides knowing Juvia was in business or management, that’s all we knew about her. No details were provided about the physical characteristics of any of the people in this book, so yeah, there was that.. how old are these people? what do they look like? And why did Juvia’s mom put her out like that out the blue and then just never check on her or call considering her situation? Also, it was difficult to tell who was speaking from paragraph to paragraph.
I couldn’t even blame Juvia for being so guarded, trusting the wrong man will do that to you. Her ex husband had no but audacity and disrespect. Desmond was such a caring and supportive man, I loved that how he always wanted to help Juvia. She was at her lowest and he chose to meet her where she was at. She had to let him in and let herself love again and I like his the Author captured Julia’s internal struggle. Sweet book.
Reading this story was thought prevoking. One day everything was good and then everything came crashing down. Juvia thought process was slow and deterring.
She meets a man that helps her in her new journey in like and they grow together, but again they had to come to some type of way of communication. I like the growth in which Julia and Desmond relationship turned out.
Wow, gentlemen do still exist ⁉️ Hmmmm, this book was such a pleasant surprise 🥰with an equally delightful storyline & characters! “A Little While Longer” was a wonderful read. …and demonstrated kindness is underrated. Desmond’s random act of kindness transformed the trajectory of many lives including his, Juvia & Jules. …Happy Father’s Day Eve Desmond 👏🏿👏🏾👏🏽‼️
This was my first read by this author, and I’m hoping she has many more books in her future! I LOVED Desmond, and if nothing else he deserves a medal for his patience as he is truly the poster child for “good things come to those who wait”. The book was a fast read, but very good, and you can’t help but root for Desmond and Juvia.
This was a really good story. When one door closes another one opens. Juvia was at a low point in her life when she met Desmond. He came and basically took her under his wing. A friendship turned into a love story. After everything Juvia’s ex put her through she definitely deserved her HEA with Desmond.
This is a great love story full of patience, love, learning to communicate and so much more. The journey was realistic because I witnessed something similar. Divorce can be tough but having someone as a zen person can really help a person deal better with the situation.
First of all I loved Desmond. He helped Juvia with no hesitation and no motive behind it. It's rare to find good people in the world. Juvia went through a lot with trifling Carlos. Now me personally I would have taken him for everything he had but I understand why she wouldn't want to have gone through the hassle. Carlos was straight trash.
This book was a quick read but it was packed with so much. Amazing character development and story line. I couldn’t get over it i didn’t want it to end! Wouldn’t mine a part two but it ended gracefully.
Juvia….finding love a second time after a worthless marriage. Desmond…finding love with a damsel in distress. Sometimes it takes the right person to bring you peace.
Juvia did better than me because Carlos would have gotten the people's elbow. Desmond popped up at the right time in Juvia's life. Desmond was working my nerves at one point in the book but he made up for it. I'm glad they both were able to move forward and not give up on each other.
First time reading from this author but I see she does a lot of novellas which is definitely my current mood. This is a single mom/step up parent trope. BD/ex-husband a no good dirty dog. For such a short read I was invested. I would recommend
This was my first time reading this authors work. I enjoyed it, these two took things slow and easy. Desmond knew what all she went through and was so patience with her. Good read.
This book was so good! The characters felt real, and they were were well developed. I love Juvia’s growth and how she didn’t allow a bad situation to affect her entire future. Great read!
This was a great book about love and redemption!!! This book has blessings and lessons throughout the story. I would definitely give this books 10 stars!!!
A little while longer was too long for Juvia and Carlos. That man was horrible. And Juvia being a glutton for punishment for allowing her cheating, conniving husband to then leave and try to double back. How long does it take to know your worth. Desmond was a better mate, but he irked my feeling too when he held his thoughts to close to his vest. By the end of the story, everyone seemed to be on the same page. A good wordy read, but still a good story.
