When Leta’s sister Lyrinn disappeared after the Blood Trials, there was only one thing for Leta to seek solace in the arms of Prince Corym, the most powerful mortal in Kalemnar.
For months, she’s been living in the palace and reveling in a life of wealth and luxury. The prince wants to marry Leta. The king approves.
On the surface, life is almost perfect.
So why, all of a sudden, does Leta want more than anything to flee the palace?
Overcome by vivid memories that are not her own—confusing visions of some other woman’s life and love—Leta gets herself as far from Corym and the palace as she can. She may not yet know what the visions mean, but it’s clear that her fate is far more complicated than she’d ever imagined.
As she flees, little does she know she’s being tracked by a Fae—a sell-blade with a past of his own and a wall of ice around his heart.
The force that brought them together will prove powerful, relentless, and devastating. But will their attraction heal them…or shatter them both?
K. A. Riley is a writer of speculative and science fiction, dedicated to creating worlds just different enough from our own to be entertaining, intriguing and a little frightening all at once. For Riley, writing isn't a job. It's a laboratory where readers can wander into a land of ideas; it's a playground where they can scamper around, giggling, gasping, and freaking out to their hearts' content.
Riley is the top-secret pen-name of a NYT and USA Today best-selling author.
It was fine. One less star because i found leta's character annoying at some parts. She was too quick to make decisions. For example, she was too haste in deciding Thal killed Gallia purely because she cheated on him, like come on girl, that's your true mate & you should know him better than that! This angst was so unnecessary. Nevertheless good story!
It's not as good as the first two in the series. But I still really enjoyed it. I liked seeing Leta's journey to finding herself, the truth, and her mate. Enjoyed the ending, would love to read more from this world.

Yet another amazing book by the wonderful K.A.Riley! Honestly don't think this brilliant lady will ever let me down! Totally in love with the characters and the story was insane! I was kept on the edge of my seat the entire way through, the only thing I will say is I NEED more Mithraan please!!
Disappointed that instead of continuing the story of the main character after just getting to the meaty part of the story they decided to tell the sisters story. Read 2 pages before I realised I did not care for a sister barely mentioned previously other than the fact she was a mini version of her mother. Not interested in continuing this story when the story I cared for was cruelly left unfinished to be a back burner in another's POV.
I loved the first book in the series. This one just didn’t flow as well for me. The conversations between the main characters seemed contrived and over the top. The main characters also made silly choices that the reader can see coming from a mile away. If this had been the first book I wouldn’t have continued the series.
