Crescent Pass #3

A River Connects Us

Rate this book
- Grayson -

Going dateless to my brother’s wedding? Not an option—at least, not according to my mom, who’s made it her life’s mission to remind me I’m still single. Enter Abby, my sister’s best friend and the only girl in my hometown who understands my mom’s brand of chaos. All we have to do is act like we’re into each other during the week I’m in Crescent Pass, and then I can escape back to my life in Seattle.
Except, Abby’s not who I remember. She’s funny, easy to be around, and beautiful in a way I can’t ignore. And when things take a turn toward heated territory… I might not be pretending anymore.

- Abby -

Here’s the thing about unrequited love: it’s quiet, it’s painful, and it definitely doesn’t include your longtime crush asking you to be his fake wedding date. But that’s exactly what happens when Grayson—the guy I’ve secretly loved for years—needs a stand-in to survive his mom’s matchmaking schemes.
I have only a week with him before he returns home, so I shouldn’t get my hopes up. But stupid me puts my heart on the line, wanting everything but too afraid to ask for it. The closer we get, the more he looks at me in that way that makes my heart pound, I can’t help but wonder… What if this could be something real?

This was surprisingly bad. I really liked the first two books and was excited for this one. It’s not even because of how pathetic Abby was and the way she pined after Grayson for years, which combined with the virgin FMC trope, was enough for me to dislike the book. What ultimately knocked this down from 2 to a 1-star rating was the cringey dialogue and lack of chemistry between MCs. The switch that clicked in Grayson’s brain that made him realize he was attracted to Abby felt so inorganic. It was very sudden. No build-up. No tension. Nothing. The spicy scenes were also incredibly awkward so not even those could save this book for me…

I first read this author through the SmartyPants Romance series. Then when she started this series two books ago, she reached out to me and I read and reviewed those two, and enjoyed them! So when I heard the third sibling’s book was coming, I was excited to read Grayson’s story.

Now Grayson was someone that I didn’t really know yet. I mean he didn’t live in town where his family was, where he grew up. That made it so this was his intro as well as his story. It was nice spending time with his brother and sister and their significant others. And seeing how he related to his hometown, and the glimpses into his life outside of Crescent Pass. However his attitude was one that made it easy to see how Abby could totally end up getting hurt.

I definitely connected with Abby though! A shy librarian, who doesn’t really let people know when she is upset, not wanting to make others upset. She was your stereotypical innocent librarian though, in EVERY way! Something she didn’t let on to Grayson until the moment it was really going to happen. I also had a hard time reading about her family, because what she was dealing with her parents’ illnesses reminded me so much of the last year or two and the loss of my stepdad, even if there were no deaths in this story.

In the end this was another wonderful romance from this author, with sweet times, funny times, and some steamy bits!

One of my favorite RomCom Series. This series follows a set of siblings and their journey to fall in love.

Kristen and Eli are my favorite couple but now Grayson and Abby fall in a close second.

This book was so fun to read. They are not too deep but really make it easy to fall into the story and stay engaged through out the entire story.

I loved the chemistry and banter between Grayson and Abby. The side characters add to the story making some fun laugh out loud moments.

We do get some emotional deep parts that really tug on your heart strings.

I loved this fake dating, best friends brother romance set in the Pacific Northwest.

Grayson needs a wedding date, he decides to ask his sisters best friend, Abby. They’ve known each other for years, but never spent much time together. Abby’s been harboring a crush on Grayson since they were teens. So of course she agrees to be his fake date for all the wedding festivities.

This was a quick, fun read. I loved the tension between these two. Grayson was oblivious to all things Abby and I loved watching him slowly realize how well they fit together. He was so supportive of Abby and helpful when issues with her aging parents came up.

It was so great to catch up with the previous books couples too!

Fast paced fake dating to real feelings with some small town shenanigans in the final book in this series.

I have binged this whole series this month, and it’s been extremely enjoyable. Each book has that small town charm, but the main characters really bring the depth to these books.

I’ve been waiting for Grayson and Abby’s book since the beginning. Usually I’m a sucker for the guy pining for the heroine, but this worked for me having it flipped.

Their relationship did feel slightly rushed, with a lot of feelings, but then again Abby has had feelings for years, Grayson just needed to catch up.

Sweet and sexy romance as Grayson and Abby take their fake dating to the next level. As Abby’s best friend’s brother, Grayson starred in her teenage fantasies and when she got the chance the play his date, she took it!

I loved how this story revolved around the marriage of Grayson’s brother so we got to catch up with characters in previous books.

I really appreciated how this story was a romcom, but not afraid to tackle some real issues like how Grayson was originally eager to move away from his small town, but now disliked the disconnect he felt with his family. And for Abby, how she wasn’t sure how to live her own life while feeling so tethered to her aging parents.

Totally have enjoyed this whole series!

It's with a heavy heart that I say I am extremely disappointed about the story. I was expecting Abby and Grayson from the first book, when we understood that Abby has always had a huge crush on the first brother, Grayson who was working and living in Seattle and hardly ever came back home.
I don't know what happened but I couldn't connect with either of them. It was too fast for my liking and I don't think the storyline was well structured and everything was happening too fast. I mean in 4 days Grayson went to not giving a f*** of Abby and her life, to fake date her for his brother's wedding to establish a “friend with benefits” sort of relationship.
I felt sorry for Abby, she sold herself short for him, because she was in love with him, so she did everything in her power to have all the crumbs he was giving her.
I was expecting a different story, more deep and well thought. I mean we had the general picture of the two characters from the previous book, so I was hoping for something that was not what I read. I am very sorry and sad because as I have already said, I was waiting for this book to come out.

Fun and emotive romance
5 stars

This is the third in Allie Winters' Crescent Pass series that focusses on three siblings from the small town of the same name. It’s oldest brother Grayson’s turn to meet his match - or rather to discover that she’s been right under his nose his whole time. This book happens during the wedding celebrations of the couple from the first book (Owen and Harper from A Forest Between Us) but you don’t need to have read any other book to enjoy this one.

Grayson is coming home to take part in his brother’s wedding celebrations. He’s long lived in Seattle, far away from the small Colorado town where he grew up. There’s just one thing bothering him and that’s his mother. In an attempt to get him settled, she’ll be throwing every living female his way in the hopes that one will stick. That’s when he remembers his sister’s shy best friend, Abby. If he pretends to date her for the week of the wedding, he can get his mother off his back. What he doesn’t know is that Abby is harbouring a huge crush on him and that his scheme might just change his life.

I really liked Grayson as a character. He had been so keen to get out of his small town and into the city when he was younger - but coming back this time he sees all he’s missed. And I wanted to give him a hug. But at the same time, his eyes were being opened by Abby and it was amusing to watch him be beset and baffled by his feelings and emotions towards her. It was a delight. He really was a good guy and the best kind of hero.

If ever there was a heroine that I felt a kinship with - it was Abby. In love with Grayson with most of her life, she never had the courage to go for it. Or for anything, really. She’s been living her safe little life and now that Grayson has offered her a glimpse of what could be - she’s going to grab it with both hands. But she’s still retains her true personality - which I loved. If anyone deserved to get her happily ever after with her crush - it was Abby.

I’m always a little uneasy when one half of a couple has been in love with the other for most of their life while the other has remained oblivious. And while there was that feeling with Abby and Grayson, it quickly went away as the pair spent more time with each other and got to know each other on a different level. And Grayson really did become just as smitten with Abby and crushed hard on her - just in a condensed time frame.

And despite knowing each other for most of their lives, the relationship between our couple still felt fresh and new. With Grayson seeing Abby in a new way, and Abby being able to act on her feelings for the first time, the chemistry is delicious and surprisingly hot. They just work as a couple - in bed and out.

I have loved every book in this series and this one is no different. Allie Winters writes a story that is so easy to get lost in and one I hugely enjoyed. It made me laugh - I even shed a tear towards the end - and it made me feel just all round happy. This was the kind of book that you feel a bit bereft when you’re done as you had such a fun time while reading. I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a fun romance that immerses you in its world and characters making you never want to leave. 5 stars.

This is perfect if you are looking for a simple romance.

When Greyson, the eldest Greyson, finished college, all he wanted was to leave the tiny town of Crescent Pass in his rearview and looking at for bright lights of big city Seattle. Every so often he returns to Podunk City to see his family usually popping in for a quick holiday visit.

Greyson only wanted a fake date to his brother Owen's wedding to keep his mother and her need to micromanage his life at bay. As he rushes through is mental rolodex of Podunk locals, he gets a call from his sister. That get's Greyson thinking, if Kristen's childhood BFF Abby Walsh is still single, she might just be willing to help a guy out since she is well aware just how insistent his mother can be. If she doesn't agree, it's going to be a really long week while his mother throws possible dates at him.

Not everyone is willing to believe that Greyson and Abby are suddenly in this budding romance, at least until Greyson really starts spending time with his family and doing all those things he enjoyed when he was younger. Those quick holiday visits are usually packed with eating and the usually holiday trapping. This is the first time since he left that he has kicked back and really talked with his family and enjoyed the more laid back lifestyle that Crescent Pass offers.

Even more confusing is spending time with Abby. Greyson never really noticed Abby other than the friend who was always with his sister. Spending time with her alone, he enjoys her sense of humor and can appreciate her on an individual level. When sparks begin between the two of them, Greyson is torn between his life in the city and his sudden desire to return home and set down roots.

THOUGHTS:
I said this before with Book 2, sometimes you just need to read a sweet romance without all the complicated plotting. Here Abby has always had a crush on her best friend's brother so she is more than willing to be Greyson's fake date. Greyson being the older brother, never really noticed Abby but after spending time with her alone, without his sister between them, he finally see the grown up woman she has become and he find himself interested in her for more than a fake date.

The obvious drama here as they spend more quality time together and a wedding week fling starts to develop into strong feelings, is the fact that they live hours away. So will his feelings for Abby and his new found appreciation for his Podunk City, make Greyson finally want to return home. It was nice after a few large world-building fantasy stories to just sit with a quiet romance and worry about will they or won't they.

The Crescent Pass series and Taylor family make a perfect break with their sweet romances.

When Grayson’s mum finds out he’s planning to go stag to his brother’s wedding, she immediately starts making a list of women to set him up with.

Horrified, he comes up with the only plan he can think of to stop this train its tracks - ask his sister’s best friend to be his fake date since she’s in the wedding party anyways.

Obviously Abby’s had a crush on Grayson forever (only the bride knows though) so she’s helpless to say no. Plus, maybe she can use this time to get him to finally see her.

Ooohh and see her he did!

I really loved their banter and the slow build of his attraction and feelings. The wedding event was a week but somehow it felt like much longer so I didn’t get the instalove ick. Plus they’d already known each other for years which also helps.

I’m just not sure it really made sense for Abby to be virgin. She dated a guy who proposed to her, and like I know they didn’t have to have sex for him to want to marry her but…it just seemed odd to me when we found out that she still held her V card. Granted, it did make for a nice growly, possessive scene when Grayson found out though. But as is popular in romance, a virgin who feels no pain on her first time AND manages to orgasm. The suspension of disbelief needs to be high with that one in my experience!

Anywho, I loved that Grayson didn’t take forever living in denial, that he was so supportive and caring, that Abby’s heartbreak felt so real and raw. Seeing her come out of her shell and asking for what she wants was inspiring. The banter was fun, they were adorable together and the spice was spicing.

I love the Crescent Pass series, just like I have loved every single book I’ve picked up by Allie Winters - she’s an incredible author and this is another incredible new release. I’m sad this series has come to an end! The characters have a place in my heart and I’ll miss them…

But, I’m happy to have had a chance to spend time with them, and that she saved the very best couple for last. And also, thank you AW for picking me to share in this world earlier than the rest with early release copies of each books. You have no idea how special that is, and how grateful I am. All of this is my honest review and opinions.

Abby is so many of us… the shy girl who has an unrequited crush on a best friend’s older brother (because didn’t we all, at some point?). Grayson is that clueless older brother who fled his small town and comes home for a family wedding without a plus one, and his mother keeps trying to set him up. He finds the perfect solution - ask his sister’s BFF Abby, who’s already going, to be his fake date, to get his mom off his case.

This storyline is beautiful, with so many twists I never could have guessed that would have been thrown in, but made it just perfect. I absolutely loved every single word, and could not put it down. I read it straight through! I recommend this book 1000%, whether you are a fan of her previous books (Smartypants, Crescent Pass series, or other), or new to her work. She is such an awesome writer! Thanks again!

It’s always the ARCs that I have the longest before release that I completely fail to copy my notes from my reading to a coherent review on time! EVERY TIME! Why am I like this? Grrr

But enough about me, let’s chat about this story!

Allie Winters put, yet again, a huge smile on my face with one of her stories! *heart eyes* There’s something about her stories that just lifts your spirits and gives you hope! I mean even the blurb gave me some kind of feeling and I liked it! The premise of this story includes some of my favorite tropes. I love a good friendship to more story and if you sprinkle a little unrequited love into the mix, you’ve got yourself a very happy reader indeed!

This was a quick story with not too much depth or angst, but it really didn’t call for it. It could have easily had those attributes, but that isn’t the choice that the author made and honestly, either way I’m pretty sure I would have enjoyed it. The only circumstance in the story that could have used depth was the relationship itself. There’s a lot of fun shenanigans happening in the story to distract from the fact that relationship-wise, these two went from zero to sixty in a blink and that could have used some fleshing out so it didn’t feel so abrupt. Still a really good read overall!

Thank you to the author for providing the ARC for an honest review!

A River Connects Us was a solid finish for the Crescent Pass series. I’m sad my stay in this cozy, small pnw town is up.

I loved Abby and Grayson together. Who among us hadn’t hoped their lifelong crush would turn into the happily ever after? In the previous two books we get little snippets of Abby’s crush on Grayson and I enjoyed reading their story and seeing how that played out in it. At the end we circle back to that little seed that grows into this hometown romance they have going on. Grayson finally finds out Abby, his sister’s best friend who’s now his girlfriend, had a crush on him since they were teenagers. All the usual characters are here and even Ruth the town gossip makes an appearance.

Some parts of Grayson’s spicy dialogue made me have the tiniest bit of second hand embarrassment, but all in all the spice is pretty good too.

This book does deal with the topic heart attacks and dementia, but it’s not the focus. This is mostly with Abby’s family and those scenes in certain chapters aren’t that frequent at all. It’s not a bad thing just a something to be aware of if you are perhaps dealing with that in your own family. Sometimes it’s helpful and sometimes it’s triggering.

Anyway, I loved this series! Definitely read it if you need a romance series in between more serious reads on your tbr and currently reading lists.

My first 5⭐️ read of 2025 goes to….drum roll please…A River Connects Us by Miss Allie Winters!

Y’ALL! If I wasn’t sick I would have finished this in one sitting!!!

A River Connects Us is the third and final book in the Crescent Pass series. They are fun and spicy standalone romances that will tug all your heart strings and ARCU is the perfect ending to the series. The things this book did to my heart and my lady parts! It’s short, sweet and has everything you want in a steamy romance.

🌲Small Town Romance
🌲Fake Dating
🌲A Meddling Mom
🌲Secret Childhood Crush
🌲Friends To Lovers
🌲Best Friend’s Brother
🌲”Mine”

The way he denies his feelings for so long, but falls hard. The things he says and does to/for her. Ugh, my heart melted. Grayson is top tier book boyfriend material!

So much is jam packed into this little romance, but the way Allie writes it doesn’t make it seem rushed at all. It’s the perfect steamy slow burn.

And the spice is SPICING! 🤭

I honestly don’t think I can pick a favorite part. The horseback ride, the wine room, the wedding, the poker game, the way he helped her family…oh my gosh I can’t pick!

You’ll just have to read it and pick for yourself!

🌲Releases January 30th!🌲
So mark your calendar! This one is a MUST READ!

Returning back to this world and characters felt like a warm, cozy reuniting hug after a long time apart. I love that Allie makes her books have somewhat shorter timelines, but they feel longer without being slow!

I really enjoyed our MCs! They were likeable and relatable throughout and due to that I was rooting for them. Their banter was top tier as well! I love a good banter couple.

I loved that since the timeline felt longer than it was, it didn’t feel like instalove or out the norm for feelings to start forming - plus, they new each other before so it isn’t like they just randomly met.

I really liked how supportive and caring the MMC was for the FMC. I don’t really know that the FMC needed to be a virgin. It kind of almost felt like an afterthought when it was thrown in? It was just an unnecessary detail imo, but it didn’t harm the plot or enjoyment of the book.

🏔️ Best Friends Brother
🏔️ Small Town Romance
🏔️ Fake Dating

Overall, I always praise Allie’s writing. It’s not too deep, but still touched on some heavier topics. You get a light, bingable and enjoyable read! Def recommend!

Favorite Quotes:

We’ve never needed a local paper because Ruth spreads news faster than any newspaper ever could. This’ll be all over town tomorrow.

When she goes boneless, I reposition her so she’s snuggled into my side, her arm lazily draped across my chest. “That was unreal,” she mumbles. “So good.” It was good. Incredibly good. Unbelievably good. If I’m being honest with myself, it might have been the best sex I’ve ever had. And we hadn’t even technically had sex.

“... it’s supposed to be bad luck for the groom to see the bride beforehand.” “Yeah, but that originated when arranged marriages were common and the bride’s family didn’t want the groom to back out of the deal in case he thought the bride was ugly.”

My Review:

This has been an entertaining and fun-to-read series and I have reveled in each sibling's headlong fall into a surprising and unexpected relationship. I have adored each couple and wanted good things for them.
Allie Winters writes scorching hot and cleverly amusing rom/coms that are giggle-snort worthy, witty, low angst, and cause massive cases of full-body dehydration. I revere her smooth style and keenly perceptive use of humorous observations and insights.

“She’s part of a fantasy life I left behind. One that was never real.”

Going back to Crescent Pass was such a delight. A River Connects us is the third book in this small-town series by Allie Winters. I adore the Taylor family and have been excited for Grayson’s HEA since he was introduced in book one. Abby Walsh is a genuinely sweet, lovely, soft spoken librarian. Grayson left his home town after high school and rarely visits. He’s dreading the week he’ll spend in Crescent Pass for his sister’s wedding, until the beguiling librarian agrees to be his date. This opposites-attract, forced proximity, fake dating love story was everything I wished for Abby & Grayson and so much more. Allie’s storytelling is charming, witty, and heartwarming. Her characters are relatable and captivating. The flirty banter is on point and Grayson is a perfect crunchy cinnamon roll. If you’re looking for something sweet to snuggle up with, A River Connects Us is a charming, low-angst, steamy, and cozy read.

Heat Factor: It’s pretty steamy.

Character Chemistry: It goes from “oof–uncomfortable” to “oof–that’s hot”

Plot: Grayson goes home for his brother’s wedding desperate to foil his mother’s matchmaking schemes—so he asks his sister’s childhood best friend to be his fake date for a week of wedding festivities. Only Abby has had a crush on Grayson essentially her entire life and is determined to use this opportunity to woo him.

Overall: This entire series is really adorable, and this book was no exception.

…and the last of the Taylor siblings falls to cupid’s arrow in a way he never expected.
This was a fun and sweet read with just the right amount of heat and a touch of drama to keep me turning the pages to see what it would take for Grayson and Abby to get their HEA.

I loved Abby and Grayson. Abby is a sweetheart and it was fun watching as she stepped out of her comfort zone. Grayson is a good guy who left his small town searching for something more. Their journey to their HEA was a lot of fun to experience. They had great chemistry and it was just fun to watch them really get to know each other and find that maybe this whole fake relationship thing could turn into so much more.

I loved being back in Crescent Pass and getting to hang out with the Taylor siblings and seeing how their relationships with not only their significant others, but with each other and how they’ve all gotten a lot closer.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Grayson’s mother refuses to let him go alone to his brother’s wedding and is desperately trying to set him up with anyone and everyone. His sister’s best friend Abby agrees to be his fake date even though she’s held real feelings for Grayson since highschool.

A River Connects Us is the third book in the Crescent Pass series. It could be read as a stand-alone but the books in this series are interconnected. This contemporary romance does contain open-door content.

The fake relationships never stay fake for long do they? While Grayson and Abby never really set any boundaries for their ruse, he’s not prepared for her to be all in on this scheme. Everything moves very quickly in their fling to forever romance but there’s not much angst since they do have some history together. Really the only drama is them trying to hide their shenanigans from their families and nothing stays hidden for long in a small town.

It seems like this is the final book in this series. The author did well with wrapping up any loose ends between books and everyone gets their HEA. I look forward to seeing what Allie Winters has next for her readers.

In the third and final book of the Crescent Pass series, Grayson decides he needs a date to Owen’s wedding in order to keep his mom from pressuring him. His sister’s friend, Abby, seems like the perfect fake date. However, he doesn’t realize that Abby has been pining for him for years. It doesn’t take long for him to realize that the dating isn’t fake for him, either, but can they make long distance work?

I really enjoyed this book as fake dating is one of my favorite romance tropes. Even though this wasn’t my favorite book in the series, it was a satisfying ending and fun to revisit familiar characters. The open door scenes were chemistry-filled. I suggest starting at the beginning of the series (book one is my favorite!) and enjoying all the small town, cozy mountain vibes that you’ll find in these books.

Thank you to Allie Winters for the gifted arc.

This is the third book in the series. It's an enjoyable read. I loved the small town setting. I could easily see myself being friends with Abby. She is crafty, works at a library, and she has a cat. Grayson is back home for his brother's wedding. He needs a date to said wedding to get his matchmaking mother off his back. His great idea is for his sister's best friend to be his fake date. As these two spend time with one another over the course of wedding week sparks start flying. Grayson sees her in a whole new light, but Abby's crush on Grayson is still going strong. How can it work when they live so far apart? Grayson and Abby were so cute together. Grayson is going to have to take some choices if the future he is starting to see come to life. There is a good sense of humor with plenty of heart and heat. A nice book to get lost in.

Okay, let’s talk about this adorable small-town romance! This book has everything I love—fake dating (swoon!), childhood crushes (double swoon!), and a librarian FMC (how cool is that?).

The story kicks off when Grayson—hot, charming, and clearly allergic to emotional vulnerability—needs a date for his brother’s wedding. Enter his sister’s best friend, our lovely librarian Abby, who has secretly been crushing on him since forever. The sparks? Immediate. The chemistry? Off the charts. The meddling mothers in the background? Honestly, the MVPs of the story.

This book was the perfect mix of cute and heart-fluttering moments. Small-town vibes, family chaos, and a love story that made me root for the characters from page one. If you’re into lighthearted romances that feel like a warm hug, A River Connects Us is your next read. Trust me.

It was so fun being back in Crescent Pass & seeing all of the past characters! This was a great little fake dating turned real dating romance. Grayson is back in town for his brother’s wedding and needs a date to get his meddling mother off his back. Enter Abby, his sister’s best friend. They all grew up together, and while Abby always had a secret crush on Grayson, he never really saw her as anything other than his sister’s best friend — until they had to spend time together the week of his brother’s wedding to keep up appearances. I really enjoyed the dynamic between the two of them. He was the guy all the girls in their small town lusted after, while she was the shy little bookworm that no one really spared a second glance at.

I don’t know what this author has planned next, but I can’t wait to see where she takes us!

Thank you to the author for a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. :)

Reading A River Connects Us was like meeting old friends - from page one I knew exactly where I was and had a feeling that this is exactly where I'm supposed to be. Thank you so much, Allie Winters, for writing the third book in this wonderful series!

This book can be read as a standalone but I think it is more enjoyable if you read the three books in order as it all comes together, in a way, in this one. Grayson and Abby have been present throughout the series and now that we finally get to know them better - both individually and together - all I can say is it was well worth the wait! Cresent Pass series is one of the best small town book series, if you ask me, so grab a warm blanket and your favorite reading beverage and enjoy the ride!

This was such a cute story, and the perfect end to the Crescent Pass trilogy. I love Abby's character, and her friendship with Kristen and Harper was such a beautiful part of this story. I also think that Grayson is a super fun character, but I didn't feel like we got to see as much of his personal character growth like we did Abby's. I am a sucker for a best friend's brother romance and a fake dating so I enjoyed both of those aspects, but I didn't expect for this story to be as emotional as it was. I found myself feeling sorry for Abby a lot and getting annoyed at Grayson, but the ending wrapped up the story beautifully and I think that it all tied together nicely. I do still like Owen and Harper's story the best, but would 100% recommend this book to anyone looking for a quick read.

Thank you to Allie Winters for an ARC!

This series just keeps getting better and better with each book! I discovered Allie Winters via the books she wrote for Smartypants Romance. After also reading some of her other series she has become. a must read author!

This was a fun fake-dating read with Grayson asking Abby to go with him to his brother's wedding. He just needs a date and she's been pining for him for years. I really loved seeing him fall for her and Abby finding a true connection with Grayson. This was really well paced with nice character and relationship development. It was also fun seeing characters from previous books in the series, too. I really enjoyed the other two books, but I think this is my new favorite!

Thank you to the author for providing an ARC for an honest review.

I'm disappointed, really. I'm waiting for the prodigy son return, especially when he's gonna be with Abby, so I might expect too much.

First, it's kind of sad to see Abby was treated herself that way. She's way too hopeless romantic and just say yes to everything Grayson demanded. She supposed to be shy, but intelligent woman.

Second, Grayson. What the hell? He's nothing but an asshole, keep mentioned several past lover. It's a bit yucky. I get that he's experienced, but please not like this. Ugh, it's hard to like him with his attitude.

Third, their chemistry seems off. It's not explored deep enough, so feels to me like a relationship of opportunity rather than real love. Plus their back and forth not texting thingy is a bit childish.

Another excellent read by Allie Winters! I've loved getting to know Owen, Kristen and now Grayson in these books! Grayson, the once fun uncle that lives far away come back for his brothers 5 years later wedding and reception and his mom has her sights set on matchmaking him with someone.... I love how he tried to pull one over on her and has his sosters best friend be his fake date! What can go wrong right???!?!??!

Abby the librarian and ever loyal bestie of Grayson sister... AND, shes had a crush in him for forever... again, what could go wrong???

Omg the chemistry !

Sooo good! Thanks for another excellent read!!

ARC Review
A River Connects Us by Allie Winters
5/5 stars

Allie Winters is back with another wonderful addition to the Cresent Pass series with a friendstolovers and faking dating to happily ever after with all of the characters in the background. The chemistry that Abbey and Grayson had and the journey of falling in love that had my emotions going and made me read it till the end. A wonderful end to a beautiful series.

I highly recommend starting with the first book in the series and catching this book releasing on Jan.30th.

A huge thank you to @alliewintersauthor and her team for an eARC for review.
