Understanding Attachment Trauma: How Our Childhood Wounds Shape Our Intimate Relationships

Rate this book
Bonding with other people is necessary for survival.

But what happens when attachment fails? Nothing less than trauma. And this is much more common than you might think. Attachment trauma not only affects our daily lives, it also significantly impacts our most intimate relationships in the future.

Because understanding, healing and thriving go hand in hand, this book will not only help you understand how unresolved attachment trauma predicted your past relationship experiences, it is also a guide to healing wounds resulting from attachment trauma, to making sense of present relational difficulties, and in learning how to seek out safe and meaningful relationships in the future.

If you’re looking for a book that gives you in depth explanations of attachment trauma, you won’t find it here. This is more of a quick guide, best for using it for basic explanations. It does give some good advice about different therapies that can help with attachment trauma. A lot of this is stuff the public is already well versed in, so it may not be for you if you’re wanting a deeper explanation.

This book was very insightful. I recommend it if you’re looking to learn more about attachment styles and how they developed.
