When an alchemist who holds the key to stopping the Chimera Clausen’s evil schemes is abducted, Mira and her allies set out to rescue him. As they close in on the kidnappers, the true identity of the enemy leader becomes clear—as does the location of the spirit hunters’ final base. In a push to stamp them out once and for all, Mira, Kagura, and their friends mobilize to take down the Chimera Clausen. The final battle approaches!
After rescuing the wife and daughter of the alchemist Johan, they find the man missing on their return. Now they have to go and rescue him, and in the process hopefully finding Chimera Clausen's HQ. Meanwhile the skyfolk Glad is a wildcard, intent to take vengeance on one specific person and not caring too much about the organization as a whole.
The volume is a good end to the Chimera Clausen arc, entertaining characters, good plot progress and world building. The main reason for me to give the book 3 stars is because I am personally not a big fan of long drawn out (string of) fights. They were well described, fitting the anime tropes well enough, 45% of the page count and all in one go is just too much for my own personal enjoyment of a book. The cringe ecchi jokes at times were not my taste either, but there were few and as such easy to ignore.
So, an entertaining read with a good ending to the arc, but the final half of the book was a bit boring to me.
