Hooray! SPLASH! Leslie Patricelli’s beloved Baby is back!
It’s time for a bath! Whee! And Baby obliges as only he can, playing with bubbles (and using them to make facial disguises from Santa’s beard to bunny ears), imitating a motorboat, and letting Mommy wash his single hair. And what would tubby time be without running away naked and shiny clean—only to be scooped up and tickled? A beloved bedtime ritual takes on new joy in Leslie Patricelli’s bright artwork, exuberant language, and simple, familiar scenes.

This was the favourite amongst the Leslie Patricelli books. My daughter enjoys bathtub time, so reading a book about it was such fun. Rubber ducks, lots of bubbles, and more adorable illustrations to look forward to in this little read.
Tubby is a very sweet book. My two year old son loves all of Leslie Patricelli's books, but this was his first. Ironically, at the time he was taking showers. But this showed him what was expected in a bath and now he loves them. Love the independence (and I like reading a little while I hover nearby). I highly recommend all of Leslie Patricelli's books!--UPL Library Patron
This is a little board book showing a baby's bath time routine. Really nice illustrations but very little words, maybe 2-3 a page. Great for really young children.
Another adorable bilingual board book from this prolific author. The text is interactive, engaging and a pleasure to read on repeat-- art is lively. From birth through preschool and maybe beyond. I think this kind of book can be useful for emerging readers, too.
Another great book about a daily toddler ritual. I love the pictures how simple and funny they are. Catherine likes this little baby and so does her mother.
Leslie Patricelli’s Baby is back and it’s bath time. Read along in Spanish or English as Baby has some fun in the tub playing with bubbles, practicing swimming, counts duckies and toes, and getting washed. Then, wrapped in a clean, warm towel, washing as Daddy dries the bathroom before taking of naked. A fun addition to the favorite series. Be sure to check out these other Spanish/English companion baby board books including: Blankie/Mantita, Huggy Kissy/Abrazos y Besitos, Yummy Yucky/¡Ñam! ¡Puaj!, The Birthday Box/Mi Caja de Cumpleaños, Hop! Hop!/¡Salto! ¡Salto!, Boo!/¡Bu!, Fa La La/Tra-la-la
I think my favorite was where the little guy is running around naked and chortling before getting in to the bath. Odd thing to be my favorite, but it was. It was very childlike. I seem to recall certain nameless members of my family doing that...ahem...
The pictures were cute and the story accurately represents what happens at bath time. The fun, the pain, the bubbles, the mess, the exasperation of parents...all true.
Leslie Patricelli's bilingual board book, in English and Spanish, is a hit for the littlest readers. The naive art style of illustration, done in vibrant acrylic colors, is very appealing. The process, worries, and joys of bath time are covered through sentences and words, covering sounds, exclamations and expressions in both languages. I like that both parents are involved in the event!
This belongs in all board book collections, as bath time is a universal event.
We're so proud of you for reading "Tubby"! You learned something wonderful—that even simple things like bath time can be fun and special when you use your imagination. Just like Baby made bubble beards and played games, you can turn everyday moments into adventures too! Maybe tonight you'll imagine your own bath time story. You're becoming such a great reader, sweetie. We love watching you discover new stories!

Baby's a big fan of this bilingual (Japanese and English in our edition) book about bathtime. I think he recognised the setting and routines and the joy of being naked. Bonus points for counting toes!
I'm kind of in love with Leslie Patricelli's books. You can't help but read them in an excited voice when you're reading aloud to your little one! Really cute, simple, with bright and happy illustrations that are bound to put a smile on your face. Highly recommend!
Ihan hauska, mutta ei suosikkejani Patricellin kirjoista. Kirjastosta lainattu kirja oli aika hurjassa kunnossa, joten en uskaltanut antaa sitä lapselle itsenäisesti selattavaksi. Osittain siksikin kirjaa luettiin meillä loppujen lopuksi aika vähän.
