It’s about where they go from here, the changes they see in themselves and in other people in their lives and the choices they make. The choices make affects their relationships and shapes their personality.

"Debutante author Ahmed Faiyaz’s novel Love, Life and all that Jazz traverses the wonder years of college. His characters are young, vibrant, energetic and flirtatious. They may be amoral at times, but never immoral. It’s a tale of a bunch of youngsters, the choices they make and their evolution into fine human beings. Faiyaz’s message to his readers is very clear. He wants them to follow their dreams not money, to experiment with things rather then accepting the established norms. He doesn’t want them to succumb to social pressures but to stand strong and fight the odds." - Asian Age
Story about a group of college friends who move on to various fields in life, discover life, experience new things and learn (or unlearn) a lot.Story revolves around relationships and is very contemporary. Finished it in one go - so it is obviously an easy breezy quick read.
My issues with the book however, are its editing (grammatical errors and spelling mistakes are easy to spot), its predictability and its narrative. In the end of a book, if I cannot carry something from it with me, I don't think its worth the effort. And this is exactly what happens when you read this book. Don't get me wrong, it is a nice hindi-movie style story about decently interesting characters, but by the last page I found myself wondering if the story was worth telling at all. Maybe its just me. Pick it up for a quick read on a flight.
First thing about this book I love its tittle…. normally I dont like long tittle a lot but this one has a poetic ring to it plus the die hard romantic in me loves it :D
Its a book about 4 college friends – Tania, Sameer, Vikram and Tanveer.. The story begins when they have just finished college and start their careers…
Tania and Sameer are having a steady relationship when he decides to go to UK for further studies and Tania starts a business with Ankur… Needless to say the relation goes through a turmoil…. But the question is will it survive the long distance?
On the other hand Tanveer who comes from a small town and a very poor family has started his job in a multinational bank with the most horrible boss one could have and the loveliest parsi girl as a housemate… will his small time thinking let him reach out to the girl who he has fallen in love with or will he just be a puppet in his cruel boss’s hand…
Vikram the casinova and the rich dad’s son in the novel is having an affair with a wanna be model, will he be able to handle the media attention that she gets? What will make a casinova like vikram change his attitude towards life?
And while all this is happening what happens to the friendships? Will they all ever come together as friends or will their life make them apart?
This book is primarily about relationships in the current context and that is what I liked about it. Their is no pretence in accepting that todays generation has moved ahead when it comes to relationships. We dont think like our parents used to, the book reflects the modern youth in a way which is real. There were part of the books I could totally relate. And that is what I really like about the book
What i didnt like about the book… Well its too predictable. U tend to know whats coming next but than may be its about our minds ;) My other problem with the book was (as usual) the grammatical errors and editing here and there but I believe thats been corrected in the next edition…
Story revolves around the characters Tania, Tanveer, Sameer, Vikram and their lives & About how their life altered with time. It's a good read and I finished it in one night.
This book is all about four friends who used to be and maintain their friendship through odd years.Destiny takes them to various places, jobs, situations and tribulations .They remain steadfast through thick and thin and share their sorrows and pleasures with patience, grit and bravery. This book is too good to be true.It also is a story of broken promises, love and surprises. This is a soft, loving story of human relations which becomes tense, anxiety filled and full of various emotions all at once....Must read if one needs to know what are human relations and how life treats you through it's in-numerous stages. I will like to recommend it to all.
# The story is about 4 friends Sameer , Vicky , Tanveer & Tania.
# How life was in college & how things get changed when you step in to the REAL WORLD.
# Naina , Tanaz , Sarah , Ankur & few more are some characters comes in & story gets along with these all ,finding difficult to maintain relationship along with their career dreams.
# In the End all settled down well.
# About Author :-I find his writing soothing & very easy going. I enjoyed it thoroughly & looking forward to read more from Ahmed Faiyaz.
Love, life & all that jazz... is an insightful narration of the way relationships work in urban and young India. The author skilfully weaves in the different choices and conflicts one faces--love, career, family, religion, among others--in the bid to be successful in one's life and relationships. The characters in the novel have a surprising variety and depth to them, that make reading it a meaningful and pleasant experience.
An engrossing story of four Sobo youngsters who explore friendship after passing out from college. Well knitted and fabulously narrated, the story is heart-warming and addictive. Addictive enough to complete in one whole sitting. The book is set in the posh places of Mumbai and will be loved and definitely related to by a true blue Bombaite who truly knows the beauty of this grand city.....!
Simple enough storyline revolving around 4 friends.. while I did like how the story progressed at an easy pace.It was definitely predictable in places, yet I finished reading the whole book. But the poor editing was a big dampener. I've read other stories edited/ written by the same author and they've been a much better experience. For a slice of life theme, I'd rather recommend "Urban Shots"...
One of my all time favorite books. Ahmed faiyaz has written this elegantly. Based upon the lives of 4 friends since college times. Love, lust, anger, separation and so on... Ultimate read.
A very much predictable story. An old time bollywood story cliche! Nothing exciting as you carry on reading, you know well what the outcomes will be in each successive pages.
Story about a group of 4 friends (Tania, Tanveer, Vikram & Sameer) and their struggle between love and the career after completing their studies. And how they overcome their fears. The writer is exceptionally straight forward and it's a convincing read. It's also fun to read. And also there were some part of the book I can totally relate and that is important thing about this book
Nothing much to tell about this book. All i can say is... It was an Easy read, Predictable but nevertheless it was a pretty fairly written story. The Characterizations could have been better. The author could have written more vividly, Certain incidents which happened in the climax could have been written more in detail.. Guess the author was in a hurry to wrap up the writing. A Modern Day Love/life story of teenagers beautifully narrated by the author. As i said, It's not a 4 Star worthy book but it is still good and can be read in one sitting.

What I like about this books is relationship seems real and like today’s youth don’t break after breakups or other family problems ..rather they get up and find a solution for problem. There is lot of positivity in book and frenship between 4 protagonist which makes it fun read….however very predictable happy ending. Detail Review here :- http://rashworld.wordpress.com/2010/0...
This book may strike chord with youngsters, specifically living in Mumbai. As the lifestyle depicted typically is of Mumbai. This is a story about a bunch of friends and how they grow up with time and accepted to move on in-spite of initial set backs. The one good thing was that they still keep on their friendship.
The writing style of the author is very simple and makes the book a compelling read. I finished it quickly.
Well it may not be the best of the books i've read till now...but it does enough to keep you hooked into it. It is very well-written book and i like the way in which author describes the emotions is quite commendable...i thoroughly enjoyed reading this one...completed in just one go.....
Borrowed this as there was absolutely nothing else to read around. Didn't change my life. Did bring me some bibliophilic pleasure for a few days though. Very light. Yeah that's the word. Can kill time with this. That's all I remember. An honest effort by the author though indeed.
It was in my bookshelf for a longer time..For some reason I did not touch it...When I read the book, I felt that I should have read it much earlier. A mind blowing story...
