Not for beginners. Readers should know some intermediate-level grammar before they read this book.

Overall it's a great book. Most example sentences are explained in three languages: English, Chinese, and Japanese itself.

Sometimes I wish the grammatical explanations were a little more thorough, perhaps with beefier examples, but it does a good job overall communicating a variety of grammatical forms.
