The Problem with Jake

Rate this book
Jake Adams is dead. He died one hundred years ago during a sudden storm in the small, rural village of White’s Bluff. He didn’t consider himself much of a ghost. How could you haunt, if no one knew you existed. But that didn’t stop him from rescuing teenaged Kathryn from a treacherous fall, while she was on vacation with her family. Kathryn had it all together, at least until the eve of her wedding. After driving all night to calm down, she wasn't surprised to find herself on the wharf at White's Bluff. She'd always felt peaceful there. Hocked to find the invisible protector from her youth wasn't a fantasy after all. She fled, fearing for her sanity. But, she couldn't ignore the questions. Who was he? Why was he here? Jake was just ecstatic to have someone else knows he existed. As Kathryn searched to find out more about him, she made plans for them to be together – well - as together as they can be under the circumstances. Jake is left to make a hard decision. Should he selfishly tie her to what little he can offer, or send her back to real life hoping she forgets him to find the life she deserves? Neither of them could have anticipated the way their story ends.

Sue Nelson Buckley grew up in Saint John, New Brunswick before moving to Vancouver, British Columbia in 2002.

When asked why she writes she'll laugh and say she can't not write. She's been telling stories for as long as she could talk and writing them down soon after she learned her alphabet.

Her first books published were two versions of the same story. The original version is a regular adult romance which was re-written as a young adult romance. Unable to decide which edition to publish, Sue decided to offer both in a dual version volume.

Her latest novel, Hiding in Plain Sight makes you wonder which is worse, the evil aliens out to get them or the High School drama queen.
