The reason I read mostly non-fiction to this day.

MASER is the microwave version of the LASER; Compton's is the reason - both directly and indirectly - that I know factoids like this.

It's like this: my parents raised me Catholic. However, ask me any question involving Bible trivia, and I will be ignorant as all fuck. Why? Because, as a kid, I figured to myself "why read these ancient fairy tales when I can be reading about real stuff like missiles, atoms, and the ocean?"

My parents are the greatest. If you need reasons why, take your pick...my possession of Compton's Encyclopedia is one of them.
