I used this guide for the classic Subway top/down route and for Keyhole Canyon as well. Full of great details that are not available anywhere else. A must for anyone Canyoneering in Zion.
This is an excellent guide for those planning to do any canyon hiking or technical canyoneering in and around Zion National Park. The author covers basic canyon hikes in good detail. Easier technical canyons - introductory stuff, and the "trade routes" - are thoroughly described. The more advanced canyons are covered more lightly, leaving room for experienced canyoneers to explore and discover more on their own.
The book also covers a lot of information about canyoneering in general, and safety concerns in particular. The author's wit elevates it above the standard dry "guide book" fare. A great read, whether you're planning a trip or not.
