A romantic drama set in New York City during the summer of 2001, where Tyler, a rebellious young man, meets Ally through a twist of fate. Her spirit helps him heal after a family tragedy, though soon the circumstances that brought them together threaten to tear them apart.
I would like to start with my meeting with a film first. The first time I saw it, I just was watching and my impression was - ok, a little bit depressive, very modernist in a way not possessing features of modern melodramatic or dramatic movies. Definitely it was in an "ok movies" category. The second time I watched it, the film grabbed me. Really. With emotions. With lost. With love. With life. I finished up weeping at the last 10 minutes of film when we already know what is going to happen.
The script. Has differences in it comparing to the script used in a movie. I cannot say which of them is better. Think both are very good and able to show the most important aspects of how small events can create the whole picture and make such a change in everyone's life.
That it is. No more words. Just emotions. Heartbreaking. Touching.
I like how the original script differs from the movie. Some changes I thought to be welcome, some less so, but the general feeling was the same and I absolutely loved it.
