Conrad has planned an abduction, but before he can execute his perfect crime, he needs a little practice bending reluctant virgins to his will. Enter Elsie, Conrad’s first girl.
A prequel to Varian Krylov's bestselling "Abduction."
Growing up near Los Angeles, I spent much of my time frolicking in the Pacific Ocean and penning angst-twisted poetry. Now I'm living in sunny Spain writing pathos-riddled fiction. Ironically, two of my favorite things are traveling, and swimming in the ocean, despite increasingly intense phobias of sharks and flying.
I've always loved the music and substance of words, always loved writing in well-worn notebooks by hand, tapping at the keys of the computer, and, of course, conjuring up stories.
And from my earliest memories, I've always been fascinated—maybe obsessed?—with sex and sexuality.
In my writing, sex is the medium, the expression, and the tool of discovery for my characters' insecurities, the needs that drive them, the comfort they can't live without, the joy and relish of life that makes each of them intense, strange, and alluring.
Conrad's First Girl is a free read and preview to 'Abduction'. I had never readVarian Krylov but always invite rare opportunity to read new authors and I am very excited when I really like them!
In this story it is told from the determined, calculating perspective of a predator and the frailty of a submissive. Keeping in mind her invitation to his advances was her submissiveness nature. Like blood in the water he scented and picked her out. When she did not scream bloody murder when he took advantage, he knew he could increase his appetite.. The Dominant picked his cherry well.
In conclusion this is a story of non consensual sex acts. If that's not entertaining, erotic or amusing. Then this title may not be suited to your tastes.
I'm unbelievably ashamed to think this devastating sexual encounter totally turned me on. It's shameful but i'd gladly be used by Conrad. Elsie should promptly beg he help her with her pesky virginity. Lucky for us Ms. Krylov has a depraved mind. 5 filthy stars. Best "one night stand(?)" ever. *fans self
I wasn't sure how to rate this because even though I marked it 'novella' it's more like a prologue for what I believe to be a predator and probably psycho giving the beginning of his fantasies a first try and honing his skills - testing to see if he can get away with preying on the innocent. Conrad, probably in his 30's, systematically picks out a very shy college girl that he hones in on in a coffee shop. His every move is calculated, preying on her timidity, her uncertainty and passing himself off as harmless. He eventually gets her to come to his house after first having taken her out on what seems like a real date and then, with a little trust established and also having thrown her off balance, he sets the second date at his home where he sees how far he can manipulate her through facade and self-questioning to do sexual things. And that's really all there is to the story, thus why I would usually expect it to be a prequel at the beginning of the real book, The Abducted.
I cannot state for sure, but I pretty much see Conrad as a sociopath, maybe a serial rapist or serial killer in training. One thing is for sure, he has been thinking about acting out for awhile and the girl in the story, Ellie, is more like a short experiment to get his feet wet so to speak.
If read by itself, it's quite an unfinished piece but now that I've started The Abducted, which starts with the heroine already having come into contact with him and having escaped, I'm kind of cringing about when he's going to back into the picture and what he's finally turned into. So, if read alone, Conrad's First Girl comes off with no real conclusion or 'finished story', but if read as just as a warm up to the actual novel, I think it probably comes in pretty handy, maybe a necessity (as I'm not that far into The Abducted) so I'm going to leave it at 3 stars and see where the novel itself leads me.
One thing is for sure - he's creepy as fuck and definitely not a good guy. Stranger Danger all the way!
Elsie was the epitome of shyness and she didn’t stand a chance against the interests and advances of the stranger with the smile and British accent. Her average appearance defeated her desire to compete in the world around her and she felt that her destiny lay in obscurity. Conrad transformed her into a fragile, fragrant rose of desire. Conrad’s bedside manner, in my opinion, leaves much to be desired but I’m not Elsie. She was helpless to resist and fell under his spell despite his crude and rude language. Love is simple as is lust. This is lust at its best, Conrad’s lust to possess Elsie and Elsie’s lust to be possessed. Conrad is extremely apt at manipulating people into doing his will but lacks the courage to commit himself. I feel safe to say that without love (or even the guise of emotion) this story falls short of its true potential. Call me old fashioned but I truly believe that sex without love isn’t really worth the energy. This isn’t a tale of love but one of dominance. Degrading a partner (sexually or otherwise) isn’t a sound basis for a relationship so I can only hope that Elsie turns her back on this and forgets she ever met Conrad. If there is a lesson to be learned it is that there is much more to be had at a coffee shop than just a cappuccino or latte macchiato and the cream isn’t always whipped.
Dark erotica and very well written. Conrad has found the perfect victim in Elsie. She is an innocent blushing virgin and he experiences perverse enjoyment by humiliating and embarrassing her sexually. I found myself afraid for Elsie and yet the scenes were so erotic, I wanted more. This was a very short prequel to Abduction
I absolutely loved Abducted and couldn't wait to read this. I was hoping to find out why Conrad was the way he was. Unfortunately this book doesn't give you any real back story on Conrad. Although I was a bit disappointed in that, I still enjoyed reading it. I love sick and twisted individuals and that is most definitely Conrad.
This was a very short story and honestly, I was quite befuddled. Was this supposed to be porn without a plot? I just couldn't get into it. I'm hoping his other story is better because just as I'm starting to get into the story, it ends!
This book was only 40 something pages. I read it in less than 15 minutes. I think the author is a good writer, but the guy in the book is not likeable at all. He is extremely condescending, and the girl he is with just takes it....Ummmm....Hello, can you say self-esteem issues?
A very quick read, but it was interesting to see Conrad outside of main storyline from Abduction!! I wished it was longer and had some of his POV, but otherwise hot dam he got me all worked up.
I stumbled across this free as a read as a prequel to Abduction the book is very short it took me about 15 smoking hot minutes to read and left me running to the shower to cool down!
It was erotic, dark, and very intense – Conrad left me wanting more!
I'm a little obsessed with Conrad. While he never physically hurt Elsie, you could sense the darkness brewing underneath his exterior. I wish this story is longer but it's definitely intense nonetheless.
I liked this story despite the fact that I didn’t like Conrad or should I say in spite of not liking Conrad. This was my first read by this author who I knew nothing about including gender. The first couple of paragraphs in I thought ‘cocky much’ and is this writer a man. I say this not a bad way but because it has been my experience when male authors write the dialog, the men in stories have a tendency to be more…more…(insert word here):) LOL Then I found out the author is a woman and I was pleasantly surprised.
Why I disliked Conrad was not solely because he was an egotistical, cocky, arrogant, overconfident and conceited (the thesaurus got a work out) man but because he preyed on a naïve Elsie! If she were more in his league or older I might have felt differently. It’s not so much that I disliked him but more that he appeared larger than life because the only comparison was to Elsie who was innocence personified. This is why I liked this story, it made me really think and feel.
The writing was beautiful in its formal speech. It flowed easily from page to teeth clenching page and I will definitely be looks at her other books.
Interesting. I always figured that degradation is a huge turn-off for me, but apparently not. Or maybe I liked it because the situations where Elsie felt humiliated wouldn't have been humiliating if she wasn't that innocent.
What I liked about this short read especially was that Krylov proved that you can write a steamy story without actual intercourse. In fact, the lack of it added to the unconventional vibe I found both refreshing and exciting.
The whole book, including the sex scenes, was very intense and although the atmosphere was dark, it didn't contain anything dubious. There were two consenting adults doing consensual things, but with a very delicious twist that managed to keep me on the edge for the entire time. I guess the darkness came from Conrad's character, his motives and detachment. The book would probably have sucked if he'd had a helpless crush on Elsie and they fell in love for eternity.
I loved Conrad's character and the novella ended way too soon, but hey, there's always Abduction to continue with.
This is the prequel to Varian Krylov's Abduction, which I had looked at previously and based on the description decided not to read, but after having read the prequel I've changed my mind. Conrad's First Girl is the story of an experienced man who finds and seduces a twenty year old innocent virgin, through callous manipulation and has her submit to him sexually. The characters are skilfully written, as well as the mental control Conrad exerts over the young woman. This is a true story of domination without physical force and perhaps best described as a mind-fuck.
If you fellas can remember how you felt the first time you read a dirty story in Playboy, Hustler,(Mayfair for those of you who grew up in England) at age 12 or 13 and read things for the first time you never thought could be done, or would be done by you. Well, 30 plus years later, I pretty much just read the same thing, sans the hard on. Let me say this...I am a huge, huge, huge, huge, HUGE fan of the ACT of foreplay. Reading about it Ad nauseam...not so much. Bare in mind that this review is being written by someone who has been spoiled by the visual aide of porn, so perhaps what I say should not be taken so seriously :-)
This is a prequel to Varian Krylov's bestselling "Abduction." When I read it I didn't even know this information! It was a book I found for free on Smashwords.
Conrad's woos a virgin and seduces her without even touching her or forcing her. Everything she does is of her own free will but he is having her come for more. An erotic short story that makes you wonder what would happen next.
Now that I know that this is a prequel, I'm interested in reading Abduction to see what happens with Conrad, since he seems hot but kinda perverted :P and I want to know what he is really up to!
A short read .. Small intro into the life of a young girl Elsie ** a virgin ** who meets a man ** Conrad* at a coffee shop, he thrills her and leads her astray. showing her what she has been missing as far as foreplay goes and sex mabye to come later. She is intrigued and continues to see Conrad.
Left hanging at the end. Was an ok read. Has potential to be a great story if it should be continued, erotic scenes and foreplay, free read from smashreads to see what the authors writing was like.
This is a very short story and a prelude to Abduction. I actually think Conrad is a little scarier in this short story than in the very long Abduction. Much colder. This book basically just gives you an idea of what type of person Conrad really is - we don't get much information about his private life in Abduction. I liked it. I read it first and was glad I did but it isn't necessary to read first.
