As I was surrounded by animals, I decided at an early age to become a nurse, however I couldn’t stand the sight of blood and so opted for a career in teaching. It’s a bit ironic that I married a surgeon.
I read my first Mills & Boon novel when I was 17 and that encouraged me to continue reading romance novels; the lure of the tall dark handsome hero, who in reality I fell in love with and knew I was going to marry on our second date! After marrying a year later, we moved to Scotland with our six week old baby so my husband could work and study for his MD in surgery. After the birth of our second son we came back to Australia to settle in Tasmania.
I went back to University and up-graded my teaching diploma to a degree and then went on to do a Masters but still I felt as if something was missing. I sat down one day and began writing and everything clicked into place - I had finally found ‘my brilliant career’! I used to write from instinct rather than a specific plan, but now, so many books later I find a loose plan doesn't go astray. An idea will pop into my head, sometimes it will be just a simple phrase or a what if question and I'm away.
Writing is a skill that can be learned and the best way to learn it is to read and to write. So many people feel they have a novel in them and very probably they are right-the only trick is to get it out. My advice to ‘would be’ writers is to write, write, and write even more. Carry a notebook at all times and jot down ideas. And like any other activity the more you do, the more it feels comfortable.

So far we have a stupid, spineless, tstl, doormat of a heroine. Yes, I am slut shaming. The h, shockarama, got pregnant from the mighty penis of Alessandro, sleazy seducer, blackmailer-of-women-in-order-to-bed- them, ass-hat extradonnaire. He didn't take the news of the bambino well. He so didn't take it well that he called her a whore, a slut, and a cheat. No, excuse me, he called her a vile whore, slut and a cheat then kicked her out in the middle of the night in whatever city they were having great baby-making sex. What a mensch.
It's been about three years and in this case, the Harley-land trope of make-good-at-the-speed-of-light has been activated rather than the I'm-only-fit-to-clean-a-tycoon's-floor trope. Ass-hat, I mean the H, is back to make trouble and hire the h to renovate his uber fancy hotel, stick his tongue in her ear, and employ a small clause in their contract to blackmail her into bed. As this is set in Australia, a western country with western laws, I assume there are laws set up to handle sexual harassment cases. I would think the statement, "Become my mistress, or I will cancel our contract and you will owe me a beucoup of dollars..." would fall under sexual harassment. Yes?
Why am I so disgusted and slut-shaming? Because after all that, the heroine just succumbs. NO BACKBONE! Just lay down on the ground, girl, and let him wipe his Ferragamos all over you and say thank you sir, may I have another which is pretty much what she does.

Okey dokey, now she's blaming herself for not trying harder to tell him about the doppelgänger son as he is taking the news so hard. This after he sees said photos of doppelgänger son. Hmm, I dunno, if a man called me a vile whore, slut etc I might be poking pins in my ass-hat extradonnaire voodoo doll. One guess where the first pin would go? Someone's magic penis wouldn't be so magical.

Alessandro did not redeem himself in my mind, and the h, oh yeah, her name is Scarlet went back and forth between spineless and strident. My one star remains. In honor of my intense dislike of the two MC's, here is a poem.

I HATED IT!!! HATED IT!!! HATED IT!! HATED IT!
I am sorry, wait. NO, I am not sorry! Not sorry at all! How can a woman write this and call it romance. This is not romance. The hero was such a jerk, no a d***. His behavior was appalling. He may claim to have fallen in love with the heroine but in my estimation no matter how much he grovels it does not make up for how he treated the heroine. Okay, maybe I can forgive him a little because he does have a valid reason for not believing the heroine but that does not account for the way he treated her after their affairs and then seeking her out again after four years.
The heroine...oh my freakin' god!! How can you love this...this...man? She goes into account how she is not after his money and how she is not his w**** but everything she does just goes against her claim. She is so high in her hormones that she can't even control herself in idoit's presences. The freaken idoit called you a gold digger and a slut!! and how does our heroine react to this? she proves him right but having sex with him even though he still thinks of her a nothing but a toy.
This book was excruciatingly painful. how painful you asked? Well let's just say pulling your eyebrows one by one would pale in comparison.
I love Melanie Milbrunes' books and have a few in my possession. I hold her in highest regard concerning the topic of harlequin present romance but this book just brings her down, way down.

It's even better that he is rich, there are pro bono lawyers who would LOVE to drag him to the mud, which he thoroughly deserved, and the sad SOB couldn't even keep it in his pants and stay celibate before planning his extravagant "sexual harassment campaign "!

Heroine is not a virgin! Yes, that was a major factor for the 3-star rating, it was because of that that I didn't like the heroine that much. She was a lukewarm heroine for me.
And the child was barely there in the story, and I just didn't feel the relationship between the mother and child.

I love an asshole Hero. In fact, I strive to read stories about them. Asshole heroes have to eventually have a likable quality somewhere in the story though. I never felt that with this hero. This should have been a perfect read for me. An asshat Hero wrongly judging his heroine and then casting her out of his life, refusing to talk to her ever again. This is one of my most favorite tropes, only something in this story was missing.
The very ending of this story, Alessandro finally admits he's been in love with Scarlett from way back when they were together before he cast her out of his life. After all his disgusting behavior through the story, this was way too little too late. This ending didn't feel genuine and it was pathetically inadequate.

Nope, just nope. And I’m sorry, but this review is bit of a rant. About BJs.
Greek “Hero” dumps Aussie heroine after a few months of courtship when he realises she’s pregnant. He is enraged and throws her out, refusing to listen to her explanations.
Years later, despite her valiant efforts to get in touch with him about his paternity, all of which is ignored, he comes a knocking with an opportunity to take her business to high places. He blackmails her into accepting a lucrative long-term contract with him or he will make her life miserable by bad-mouthing her business.
Of course, all he wants is to get in her pants and eventually she capitulates and they have sex, and after some token lets-not-regret-this conversation, the H discovers he has a small problem: a penis that refuses to quit.
He begs her not to leave him “in this state”. And she, after all that has happened, instead of doing the walk of shame, GOES DOWN ON HER KNESS and pleasures him till he comes.
Now, let’s not even get into the revoltingness of giving a blow job so soon after having unprotected sex with a man who slept around before their unholy reunion. And not even the idiocy of not using contraception despite having concrete-proof that his little swimmers work.
But this is the same guy who threw her out on streets AT NIGHT. When she was PREGNANT. With HIS child. Streets that he later admits HE KNEW were unsafe.
He has insulted her, refuses to even discuss the possibility of him being the father of her child, had threatened to destroy her hard earned business and she decides… BJ, darling?
And worst of all, since there was no exotic Greek spittoon nearby, my mind diabolically supplied the obvious conclusion: she swallowed.
Now it was only a couple of sentences but it just put me off the whole book. Come on, authors, a blow job is called a job for a reason. It’s work. That’s why it’s an insult when people say go suck a dick. It’s why some women charge for this service. Think gag reflex, aching jaws. It’s the one time women hope for premature ejaculation.
The author conveyed something to the effect that she gave him a BJ as a way of showing her power over him. Sweetheart, get off your knees and spit that shit back in his face, there’s power for you.
So that just ruined it for me. And it was a pity because it had all the makings of a 4-star novel once the H discovered how wrong he was. His anguish just jumped out through the pages. For once, his reason for disbelieving paternity was perfect
It’s why I picked up the book; I thought, finally, a pregnancy romance that doesn’t insult my intelligence. Guess the author found another way to do that.
And for some annoying reason this h kept rolling her lips throughout the book. I understand biting your lips, pressing your lips together but rolling your lips? How does one do that? And the one time when it may have made sense, she didn’t!
This novel could have been fixed easily. So he was angry about the perceived cheating when he threw her out, but he could have sent a car after her to make sure that she was alright. I need a Hero who can’t help himself, not someone who lacks basic human decency for a pregnant woman.
And a little cut and paste of that BJ scene to much later on would have been better
It was a nice touch though, during the epilogue when the author gave a realistic picture of the HEA.
If you can shrug off H’s initial dipshit behaviour and don’t mind the author throwing in a little erotica at the expense of romance, this is an ok novel. It still works as an easy read.

Nope... still pitiful 2 stars ⭐️.
Above all the cruelty, slut shaming, name callings and throwing out her at night in a foreign country, from what I understood he wasn’t celibate too.
Only plus point was he sought her out after separation. In my opinion that was also a little too late. To be accurate 4 years.

This was really an emotional read. The plot dealt with a very real and sad issue and I could understand why the hero behaved in such a cruel way with the heroine at the beginning of their affair.
Scarlett was such a real and likable heroine.She struggled a lot with the decisions she had made but never gave up on the love she feels for her little son, who is absolutely adorable.
Five years after being so cruelly thrown out by Alessandro, Scarlett finds it difficult to forgive him but once she discovers the reason, she's unable to not understand his pain and suffering.
A lovely and heart-warming story.
Scarlett was such a real and likable heroine.She struggled a lot with the decisions she had made but never gave up on the love she feels for her little son, who is absolutely adorable.

The reviews on this are all over the place. Scarlett and Alessandro were in a relationship when she became pregnant. Alessandro is FURIOUS because he knows she cheated on him. She didn’t, but he’s had a vasectomy, and has checked his infertility, so he assumes she’s a cheating tart. He kicks her out preggers in the middle of the night without listening to her. The book starts up 4 years later with him coming back into her life with a job… and wanting some.
I knew going in Alessandro was an ass, so I was prepared. BUT If cruel H’s don’t do it for you… I’d skip. My biggest issue was the pacing, and lack of development. In a nutshell, they reconnect, fight, bicker, throw insults, and have sex. (this had some steamy sexytime for a HP) At the 50% point, he figures out the kid is his, and then they fight, bicker, he bullies her, and have sex. IMO, all the big reveals took WAY too long to get to, and their HEA moment was created, not developed. I was bored… a lot.
Bottom Line- It was just so-so for me. I do like a jerk, but I need something else… some groveling… some remorse… some action… some development… some forward motion… something. And, this had a lot of nothing. 🥱😴🥱😴🥱😴

This definitely kept my interest. It was emotional and kept me reading just to see what outrageous stunt the H would pull next. He could be amazingly ruthless, even though I never bought it. I think she could have/should have called his bluff. And I did find it interesting that he missed/loved her so much that he was willing to get past the fact of her supposed betrayal and go to great lengths to get her back in his life. He tried to play it off as a temporary thing and that she'd only be a mistress, but I wasn't convinced. He was just hoping to convince himself. But, big negative, this one has my biggest HP pet peeve...
Also, I think the h was a bit too easy on him. I wish she hadn't "melted" every time he touched her. I know that's typical, but can't they at least pretend to be turned off? In fact, why would she even have to pretend with someone who was still believing her to be a liar and cheat. That's a libido killer for me.
This definitely kept my interest. It was emotional and kept me reading just to see what outrageous stunt the H would pull next. He could be amazingly ruthless, even though I never bought it. I think she could have/should have called his bluff. And I did find it interesting that he missed/loved her so much that he was willing to get past the fact of her supposed betrayal and go to great lengths to get her back in his life. He tried to play it off as a temporary thing and that she'd only be a mistress, but I wasn't convinced. He was just hoping to convince himself. But, big negative, this one has my biggest HP pet peeve...
Also, I think the h was a bit too easy on him. I wish she hadn't "melted" every time he touched her. I know that's typical, but can't they at least pretend to be turned off? In fact, why would she even have to pretend with someone who was still believing her to be a liar and cheat. That's a libido killer for me.

Hero threw pregnant heroine out on the street cause he thinks she cheated on him since he had a vasectomy and is unable to have kids. Three years later Alessandro finds out that Scarlett's child is his son. He is in shock and scared to death about his son and his dark secret that might ruin their happiness.
Very emotional and touching love story. Hero was a sad, complex man with a heartbreaking past and I couldn't help but feel for him. Heroine was a caring mother with a big heart. I liked how she forgave Alessandro and was not resentful or bitter. She was very supportive and once she found out about his illness and how it might affect their son I admired her bravery and courage!

Upon learning of her pregnancy, hotel magnate Alessandro Marciano accused Scarlett Fitzpatrick of being a cheating gold-digger and threw her out in the street. Now, 4 years later, Alessandro hires Scarlett design firm to refurbish his newest hotel and wants to pick up where they left off. But Scarlett is wary, especially about Alessandro's intentions once he realizes that her son is his.
The hero in this book is absolutely vile. His actions from beginning to end are completely inexcusable and there is nothing redeemable about him whatsoever. He threatens to ruin her business and take custody of their child away from her if she doesn't sleep with and then marry him. This goes far beyond sexual harassment and extortion.
Moreover, the heroine has no backbone. She ostensibly hates him and demands that he atone for his behavior, but never follows through and consistently succumbs to his sexual advances. The fact that she not only forgives him but actively encourages him to be a part of her son's life is very problematic and is reminiscent of abused women who allow their abusers back into their lives.
So, why the 2 star rating? Well, I actually enjoyed Milburne's writing style and the topic of is well researched and adds a compelling and emotional nuance to the story.
It would have been better as women's fiction rather than romance.

Book One of Bought for Her Baby quartet, I have already read Book Two: Desert King, Pregnant Mistress by Susan Stephens. This is my sixth read by Melanie Milburne and I'll never forget that I read my first Mills and Boon titled Bought For The Marriage Bed (what a coincidence!), which was by her only. The first page of the book is dedicated to the author, I was surprised to know quite a few things about her and am inspired by her too!
Scarlett Fitzpatrick runs a small interior-design studio in Woollahra with her business partner, Roxanne Hartley. She isn't having much luck in the dating scene, especially when she mentions her three-year-old son Matthew. She is looking for a steady relationship so that her son could have a father figure too.
Thirty-three years old Alessandro Marciano has recently acquired the Arlington Hotel building in Sydney and has handed over the interior designing work to Roxanne's firm, the latter having fixed him an appointment with Scarlett, without her knowledge. I'm glad that in this Harlequin, the character of Dylan wasn't gay and that the author showed that a platonic friendship can exist between a guy and a girl. Duh!
Her father wasn't interested in her, and Scarlett fears that the same is the case with her son. Scarlett is only twenty-six and her mother worries about her. But, oh, it broke my heart to see young Matthew praying to God to make his dead Dad alive! Scarlett had told everyone that Matthew's father was dead. And nobody needs an enemy when you have a friend in someone like Roxanne. Ha! Though she is the most thoughtful too.
This story confused me. I mean, the way Alessandro blew hot and cold with Scarlett. Till almost the last two chapters. He had problems with his parents, in his family, due to an incident that happened in the past. But the way he treated her was so not done. It would have been a two-star read of not for the beautiful ending.

Alessandro *knew* that the baby Scarlett was carrying wasn't his, so he did what every self-righteous man does & kicked his lover out in the middle of the night in the rain in a foreign country. Of course she *knows* it's his baby since he's the only one she's been with in over a year.
Fast forward 3 years and Alessandro comes back into her life to have revenge on Scarlett for *daring* to leave when he kicked her out.
Yeah, it was a little over the top & I really didn't buy into the whole renewed relationship.

Scarlett met Alessandro Marciano while back-packing through Italy. She fell head over heels for the gorgeous Italian and changed all her plans to spend time with him. They spent a couple months together, mostly in his bed, and when Scarlett tells him she's pregnant with his child, he kicks her out, in the middle of the night. Calls her a whore, accuses her of screwing around on him, claims that the baby isn't his, and kicks her out in the middle f the freaking night!!
Four years later, Scarlett has had her son, started a somewhat successful interior design company with her best friend Roxanne and is doing great. And who walks back into her life acting like a butt-head? Yup. Mr. Alessandro Marciano; Signor Slimeball! He has chosen to harass Scarlett by hiring her company to decorate a hotel he is renovating. Great opportunity for her, but once she signs the contract, he starts making inappropriate demands. Two words for your Scarlett: Sexual Harassment! She eventually gives in and allows him back into her life.
It isn't until halfway through the book, when he see's her computer screensaver of pictures of her son, that he realizes that the child is actually his and Scarlett did not lie to him. So I didn't understand why he kept insisting that the baby was not his...I mean this wasn't a Michael Jackson / Billie Jean situation. And why the hell didn't Scarlett just ask him why? It turns out that Alessandro had a vasectomy many years earlier, when he learned that he was the carrier for an awful disease. He decided never to pass the gene on to another generation. He made this decision after watching his younger brother suffer and eventually die from the disease, and then his parents marriage fall apart afterward.
I now understood why he could have felt that way, however, but even so! After learning that the kid was his son, he had guilt up the yahzoo, but did that stop the assholery? Nope! Now his demands are not just "sleep with me" but 'marry me cause I want me child." To Scarlett he’s being totally unreasonable, because he still hasn't told her that her son could possible be a carrier or actually HAVE this disease. This dude is not winning any medals here. It took a journalist to blurt out the entire story before Scarlett learns of the possible threat to her son.
And strangely enough, she still married the D-Bag because she loves him and he's her son's father. Of course, in the Harlequin universe, it all works out beautifully, the son doesn't have the disease, they create another perfect child (that he didn't want) together and while she didn't have the disease either, she turned out to be a carrier.
I enjoyed every moment I spent silently cursing Alessandro Marciano and calling him the vilest of names. What I didn’t understand is how Scarlett, an intelligent woman, allowed this man to treat her the way he did. As my BFF would say "Ain’t no Di*k that damn good!" Hallelujah, sister!!!!

Four years ago Alessandro and Scarlett had a great love affair that ended when she told him she was pregnant and him telling her to leave with the baby that wasn't his. Now Scarlett has a business that is doing well but not well enough and a little boy that she loves dearly. When she finds out Alessandro is back and wants her to decorate his new hotel Scarlett has no intentions of helping till he blackmails her. Now Scarlett is spending way too much time with Alessandro and quickly falling into his charm. Seeing Alessandro now makes Scarlett even more convinced that she needs to prove their child his really his, Alessandro has no plans of ever claiming his son. Till he see's him. Now everything has changed and Alessandro's whole outlook on life is centered around Scarlett and their boy, and he has every intuition of keeping them both no matter what.
I had a hard time with this one on one hand I read this book from start to finish and didn't want to stop reading it. On the other hand I had a hard time with many things that happened in this book. And I know that Harlequin books almost have a prerequisite but this one went too far in some areas. For example the people who are supposed to love and support Scarlett treated her horribly and when you think they would have put her first they didn't with the exception of a few people. Her friend wasn't a friend and her sister was only worried about herself and money. Alessandro got away with way too much, and yes I know heroes get away with way more in books like this but their was no consequences for Alessandro. I understood Alessandro's anger for what he believed but there was never really any consequences for his actions and while he was off living his life our heroine was at home not living at all. When she see's the hero again her reactions just irritated me. I get loving someone and being very attracted to them but to have no self control (especially with a heroine) bugs the crap out of me.
Again this book wasn't all bad the story flowed really well and even through my irritation (not always) I didn't want to put this book down, at one point I tried and just couldn't. I also do believe that Alessandro truly loved Scarlett and that Scarlett loved him just the same. Alessandro Marciano threw pregnant Scarlett out on the street--this gold digger had betrayed him! Now he has returned--and he has a business proposition for Scarlett: he'll bankrupt her or bed her. The choice is hers....But when Alessandro's faced with the fact that Scarlett's child is his son, there is no choice. Scarlett will be the Marciano bride--willingly or not.

Just average, ended up skimming a lot. Heroine is pregnant but hero denies the child is his (he has his reasons), assuming that she cheated and literally throws her out in the street in a foreign country without care. Four years later, hero hires her for a big interior design project. He wants her in his bed, she puts up little resistance. Heroine repeatedly tells hero that he is the father of her son. He sees pictures on her screen saver and finally believes. He tries to force her into marriage. Finally the reason for the misunderstanding is revealed, which still causes some problems before the HEA.
While not clearly stated in the book, it is implied that hero is not celibate during their four year separation. However, the heroine was celibate. I get that she was raising a child, but come on... for once I'd like to read a HP where the heroine at least has a boyfriend or someone in between. It would have made sense in this one because the heroine was also not a virgin when she met the hero.

I hated the heroine in this one. She was a doormat and then she tries to act like she has a spine but it’s after she already gives in to him! Too late by that point. I didn’t care for the hero either but the heroine was way worse. The story was well written so that’s the two stars!!!

This is my first review I'm doing on my phone. Let's see how it goes and might limit the length of my review so let's get started.

This is the story of Alessandro and Scarlett that's filled with raw emotions, passionate, hot chemistry, misunderstandings, and just an overall emotional love story. I really loved the story and the characters and I was really invested in the story.
The couple had a history before the story began. They had a relationship which was hot and passionate as it was in the present time and the chemistry carried through from page one all the way to the last one. And their relationship was hot and smoking all the way through. In the past, their relationship with Scarlett being his mistress was seemingly perfect until Scarlett found out she was pregnant then all hell broke loose. Alessandro was angry and threw Scarlett out of his house and said some scathing comments to her which devastated her because she loved him and thinking their relationship for him was jus all about sex and nothing more. So she was heartbroken and left intent to raise her son on her own and forgot all about Alessandro.
Of coarse he came back into her life and wanted to hire her to design one of his buildings he just bought and wound up blackmailing her by threatening her business if she didn't comply with his wishes. Scarlett had misgivings about allowing him back in life for one she still loved him and two feared what would happen with her son. But the hit chemistry still existed with them and was off the charts and was unstoppable that neither of them could resist.
I liked the whole backstory with them and how both were hurt by the ending of their relationship. Alessandro felt betrayed because he thought she cheated on him and the baby wasn't his because he had a vasectomy so he figured he couldn't father a child. And I could his pain of loosing her as well as the guilt when he found out that she was in fact telling the truth and how much pain he put he through. I loved seeing that vulnerable side to him. And really enjoyed seeing him try to make it up to her.
Before the revelation that he was the father, I loved seeing the back and forth between them with lots of tension between the pair. It just added to the angst of the story. I loved seeing it all back and forth. Plus the tension added a few degrees to their chemistry which was great. It was practically melting the pages. Loved it. Plus the emotions and hurts going on oozed off the page. It was just so great to witness. Loved rawness that was there.
Then I learned why he was so against have children and it was a heartbreaking reason that made me feel his pain so much more. He lost his brother due to a genetic disease which was painful and hard for him to witnessed his brother's suffering and never wanted to put his child through that so he had the vasectomy. Again I loved seeing that vulnerable side to him. And add to the fact he thought she cheated on him and pregnant with someone else child. So he had a whole lot of pain that he went through in the book and made him human and made me love him as a character.
Now she went through a lot too and overcame it and became a successful single mother who vowed to do the best to raise her son the best way she could while dealing with her own emotional pain. And she had a lot as well. She couldn't believe that he didn't believe he didn't believe he was the father of her child and she felt betrayed by him as well. And she has to deal with that but she was strong and determined mother. I liked her so much. I'm glad she wasn't a pushover either and thought of her son first.
I liked how the love story played out. I thought the story felt real with the realness of the feelings backing it up. I could feel it. I believed. I believed that they were in love with one another. And it didn't hurt that the love scenes were really steamy but again it had the emotions behind it that made it hotter and more raw because I knew something more was there than just the physical. I could feel the love coming through which I loved. Just whole love story was really well done.
Melanie Milburne did a really great job with this story and bringing the emotional intensity to the story. This is why I love romance novels. I just loved the rawness and pain that was in the story followed by healing and love. A deep love on both characters and it was totally believable. This was a great story and a great love story with very likable and enjoyable characters that I couldn't help but root for and hope they got their happily ever after with one another. Very well done.

A good author is able to bring out strong emotions to the reader, and that is exactly what Melanie Milburne was able to do in this story. She is a talented author. The first few chapters of this book I caught myself wanting to either slap, or scream at the Hero. Alessandro refused to believe that Scarlett was pregnant with his child. Later on in the story I understood why. He grew on me as a hero. I don't want to give the story away, and give you spoilers. I will just say, this is a story worth reading. I really enjoyed it. It had some touching moments that pulled at my heart. The story offered some suspense, and romance.

The hero and heroine had a love affair, the heroine ended up pregnant but the hero called her a whore and slut, sent her away saying the unborn child she was pregnant with could not be his. Four years have past and now the hero is back in the heroines life, despite his denial at not being her sons biological father, he is about to find out he is wrong.
Such an emotional book, I couldn't believe it at times how intense it was!

Thought the hero was pushy and unfeeling toward the heroine, not believing a word that she said and left her in a horrible situation. It is hard to see how they got together again since he is very domineering and seem to only care about himself not others. Heroine appeared to be a very scared of him with his attitude and she was a pushover.

This was very repetitive book. The hero practically put his hands over his ears to ignore the heroine for 3 quarters of the plot. The heroine flipped back and forth on hate/love quickly. The hero didn't become likable after he found out he was a father. I'd say skip.

I hated everything about the story and the MMC. The MMC was absolutely horrible to FMC, I do not care at all about his sob story or his reasoning. He threw her (while she was pregnant with his child) out like trash at night and in a foreign country, he was a trash character.
He should have at the very least done a DNA test when child was born, not just deem it impossible.
It was disgusting that he didn't even want to do a DNA test or see a photo of the child, also he threatened to fire FMC if she brought their child around him. Regardless of his reasoning (had vasectomy because he was carrier for cystic fibrous), all that makes him an irredeemable character in my opinion.
He would have still not believed it or tried to pursue anything if the boy did not look exactly like him.
FMC was a huge disappointment, after his horrible treatment she fell into bed with him extremely quickly. He slept with so many other women in the 4 years they were apart while she of course was celibate. He was even in a sexual relationship with another woman when he was actively pursing (trying to blackmail FMC) into sleeping with him again.
He was so confident he was infertile (by choice with vasectomy) that he didn't use protection with FMC so how many other kids does he have?? He proved to be extremely fertile getting FMC pregnant the first time he slept with her (4 years previously and first time they slept together after reuniting). P.

This was a fun and quick read. I always enjoy a good story where one party doesn't know the whole truth.
One major thing I disliked :: Alessandro is a bit bullish in what he wants and doesn't seem to care about how his decisions affect Scarlett and her life. The frustrating part of this is that Scarlett says, "I hate you for doing this," and then a minute later, forgives him for this attitude.
However, this is a harlequin romance, so I often overlook some idiocy in these novels, where I otherwise wouldn't.
