Have you ever heard the term "creative visualization"? How about "the power of positive thinking"? Anytime you hold a certain thought in your brain, you legitimize it, whether it's good or bad. We rarely dwell on the good things; instead, we all have a strong tendency to obsess over the bad things. The thing is, whenever we spend time worrying or freaking out about something, we're actually meditating on it. If you make use of your ability to switch your brain in a different direction, you can turn worry into a simple contemplation. Instead of visualizing the worst-case scenario, picture the positive outcome. If you're stumped by a certain problem, daydream about the possible solutions. Actually walk through them in your head like they're a mini-play with the appropriate characters, scenery, and dialogue.
This author, Kyan Douglas, is more feminine than I am--and I'm a pregnant woman!!! He takes you through step by step on good grooming, haircuts, how to apply make-up, spa treatments, healthy eating, etc... I've only seen a couple of episodes of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, but if you like the show, you'll probably like this book. Great pictures, good advice, it's like all the best parts of your favorite magazines.
Wonderful beauty tips for hair, skin, make-up, everything! I'm not one who takes time to groom and make myself up like a super model but this book made things easier for me. This man knows what he is talking about!
It was interesting to read about Kyan's background throughout the book. I like that many of the beauty secrets are related to actually taking care of yourself, not how to put on makeup.
