🌟TROPES: Gospel Noir, Antihero Protagonist, Dark Humour, Mysticism & Theology, Secrets & Double Lives, Moral Ambiguity 🌟

I struggled through most of it and I felt let down by how sluggish the narrative was. Several years ago I read the sequel “Second Coming: The Passion of Joe Panther” but at the time I hadn’t realised it was a sequel. I really enjoyed that book and it wasn’t until I got to the very end of that one that I realised this book is part of a duology.

Fast forward to present times and I convinced myself I really had to track down this book down and I was really excited to read it especially as I loved how Joe Panther was portrayed in Second Coming. I suspect that because I read these two books in the wrong order is what played a role in me not enjoying it as much as Second Coming. So just a 3 ⭐️ rating from me.
