John Aubrey Anderson artfully crafts the compelling story of the conflict between the natural and spirit worlds and Missy Parker and Mose Washington, caught between.
Wow! John Aubrey Anderson has an awesome gift for writing! This book is even better than the first, if that's possible. I now have a new favorite author. Rich characters, riveting storyline, reality of Biblical truth woven throughout. God has given this man a wonderful gift of writing in a way to help others know Him and make Him known.
even better than the first. I love the character Mose. This is turning out to be an incredible series. It's very visual too. I can clearly see the characters and scenery play out in my head. I think it would make a great movie
3.5 The first book definitely drew me in and kept me reading. This one had moments where it started interesting, transitioned to another character’s story which was fine, and then kept the plot steady… almost too steady. I feel like the overall message and story line was good, it just seemed like it dragged on too long and unnecessarily. Whereas the first book seemed not only more action packed, but intriguing for the reader to continue to want more. That same or near same excitement wasn’t in this novel unfortunately.
I know that it’s not necessarily fair to rate a second book of a series based on how I liked the first, but I feel that if it’s in a series, it should be rated accordingly while also being rated on its own, especially if there are more after this.
Overall the book wasn’t bad. I was recommend the series by a friend who loved it. And I’m grateful she told me about it, because it expanded my horizons, but she did warn me that the first one might be the better one, to which she was correct.
Because there were moments where it was impactful and intriguing and moments where it dropped off, I feel a 3.5 was a fair rating overall.
I am loving these books. I can't wait to start the next one. I appreciate that the gospel is spelled out so plainly and the reminder that we are in a war.
I love this one even , more than the first, if that's possible. amazing writing from John Aubrey. am already excited to begin the third in this series.
the second book in the Black and White Chronicles...better than the first. Keeps getting gooder and gooder! Really upset when the series ended....I seriously want more!
