Michael Jackson: The king of Pop, By: Carl W Hart
The amazing biography Michael Jackson is written by the well-known author Carl W Hart. This book mainly talks about Michael’s life, his childhood, adolescence, and his fame as a singer and dancer. Michael Joseph Jackson was born in 1958 at Gary, Indiana. He was not an only child; he had five brothers who helped him succeed his childhood as a member of the Jackson 5. Michael started singing at the age of six with his big brothers. Michael Jackson had a great talent on singing and dancing, people were pleased and encouraged him to go further in his career. Michael was so gifted and talented that his brothers let him be the group leader. At first, it was not called the Jackson 5 but the Jackson Brothers where they were only three, after several years Michael and his brother Marlon joined the band and they were five. Michael Jackson had problems with his strict father who only wanted their good. His dad did not want Michael and his brothers to have too many friends and he even hit them if they did not obey his rules, but he pushed his children to practice for a long time. Even though he sings with the Jackson 5 Michael made some solo songs including “Ben” and “Got to Be There”. However, in 1978 Michael Jackson started his solo career with the famous producer Quincy Jones. The first solo song Michael Jackson produced was “Off the Wall”; with this album, Michael Jackson made himself famous and started getting many fans. This did not make Michael Jackson a well- known singer and dancer; the songs that made Michael Jackson a legend were “Thriller” which was released in late 1982, this song made him win 8 trophies. The album “Thriller” was a bestselling album that made him a real star. Although Thriller was, the best album Michael had other famous songs such as Bad, Billie Jean, and Dangerous. Michael Jackson sang and danced pop and now he is known as the King of Pop. Michael had a lot of talent that no one has ever done before him like the moonwalk that made him a real legend. Michael Jackson changed physically throughout the years: His nose became thinner, his face changed, and most importantly, Michael was taking drugs to make his skin white instead of black. Michael Jackson was paying his doctor a bunch of money to drug him. However, Michael was also taking another drug that would help him sleep. These drugs led Michael to his death on June 25, 2009 at the age of fifty before his “This Is It” concert that he was preparing for.
Throughout the biography, Michael Jackson the reader might describe him physically and mentally. Michael Jackson was somehow a victim of racism when he wanted to change his skin color from black to white, he was also nice to everyone, and he did not judge anyone differently. Michael was a good dancer and singer as well, that way he became a real legend and had many fans. Finally, Michael Jackson was a good man and looked forward to his future. What one would like about this person is that he listened to everyone, he did not listen to someone more than the other and something else I like is that he started singing at an early age. Michael Jackson became a legend thanks to his passion for art and his great effort as a singer. If I could meet this person, I would ask him countless questions about his life. First, I would ask him why he wanted to change his skin color and if he regretted doing it. Second, does he want to come back over time to change all the bad things he did over his life or not. Finally, I would ask Michael Jackson if he liked his life as a singer or he dreamt to have another career. Michael Jackson’s hard work led him to succeed his career as a singer and made his name alive forever.
I would recommend this great biography to all singers and dancers to encourage them to follow the same path as Michael Jackson in order to succeed as he did. However, I would just remind them not reproduce his mistakes. I would also recommend the book to miners who dream to become a singer or dancer; it would help them choose the right things to do.
