Be on the lookout for the next entries in the Tofu Brains Tofu Brains 2: Enantiodromia – The Pendleton Files (expected Q2/2024) TB3 (Untitled) (expected 2025-2026)
Lars Koch is a first-time author of Tofu Brains. He draws inspiration the Fallout universe and renowned artists such as Lars von Trier, Phillip K. Dick, David Lynch, Ayn Rand and Akira Yamaoka.
For a first book, this shows great promise for Koch's future projects. While cheesy and clingy dialogue and completely unsubtle political commentary reveal a degree of juvenile authorship, the world building, plot, and sheer creativity of Tofu Brains shine through. This is by no means peak science fiction, but it was a very fun read, and I look forward to the Pendleton Archives prequel when it is released!
Tofu Brains: Life on Zeeta 21 is a must-read for any science-fiction enthusiast! This book takes you on a thrilling ride through space, while also delving into deeper themes like identity, class, and the relationship between humanity and the environment.
Welcome to Zeeta 21: City of the Future! Author Lars Koch has created a vivid and compelling world with Zeeta 21, a city designed for space travel and populated by some of Earth's best and brightest minds. But as the story unfolds, we see that life on Zeeta 21 is far from perfect, and the characters must face their own fears and inner demons in order to survive.
Koch's writing is masterful, humoristic, blending elements of horror and suspense with poignant moments of reflection and introspection. The characters are well-drawn and relatable, making their struggles and triumphs all the more impactful.
Drawing inspiration from renowned artists such as Ayn Rand, David Lynch and Akira Yamaoka, what sets Tofu Brains apart from other science-fiction novels is its willingness to tackle important and timely themes like environmental degradation and the human impact on the natural world. Koch's vision of the future is both terrifying and hopeful, reminding us that even in the face of adversity, humanity has the capacity for resilience and adaptation.
The illustration and cover art for Tofu Brains: Life on Zeeta 21 are simply stunning! The attention to detail and vivid colors immediately draw the reader in and set the tone for the story. The cover perfectly captures the essence of the book - a dystopian science-fiction novel with elements of horror and suspense.
Overall, Tofu Brains: Life on Zeeta 21 is a thought-provoking and thrilling read that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very last page. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a fresh take on the science-fiction genre or just sci-fi in generel or Fallout series. I would love to see this made into a sequal or maybe even a movie og TV-series. Lars Koch is a first-time author of Tofu Brains and I can't wait for the next one from him. What a debut book. The potential and talent is there!
Tofu Brains sets up a very interesting univers, with some clear inspiration from other sci-fi work like the Fallout universe and to a degree Idiocracy, with the people in power absurd understanding of how things will work out the best, by of course keeping themselves in power no matter the cost.
The book gives a very clear and straight forward story, for a large universe with a very diverse set of characters, whose ambitions or lack there of clashes throughout the story. It is however always quite clear what the different characters are going after.
If you are a fan of sci-fi then this book might be something for you.
You wouldn’t believe this little gem is the first the author has ever published! Tofu Brains : life on Zeeta 21 contains everything a good sci-fi/dystopian book must have : it is thrilling and enlightening, but also really witty. It allows one’s to reflect on humanity and what it is to become…in kind of a fun way! The plot is rich and profound, and the characters elaborated and complex. I had a hard time not finishing it in one go.
This is definitely the beginning of a great sci-fi series ❤️
This book has it all. It's well written, fun and has an exciting and surprising plot. I can only recommend this book and hope that we will soon hear more from this upcoming author.
