Molecular Thermodynamics

Rate this book
Evolved from McQuarrie and Simon's best-selling textbook, iPhysical
Chemistry: A Molecular Approach/i, this text follows a similar path by first
covering the principles of quantum mechanics before engaging those ideas in
the subsequent development of thermodynamics. Although many of the chapters
in iMolecular Thermodynamics/i are similar to chapters in the physical
chemistry text, new material has been added throughout along with three
entirely new chapters. The text includes five short "MathChapters," each
with a special set of problems that will help students review and summarize
the mathematical tools required to master the material. Worked examples and
chapter-ending problems with solutions are also included throughout the
book.

This books is incredible. It's extremely comprehensive. If you love physical chemistry as I do read this book. I have always enjoyed McQuarrie's work this just made me love it even more. It is a testament to his legacy.

McQuarrie was recommended by a pchem professor as an alternative to Atkins. I wanted to improve my thermodynamics knowledge and purchased this title. It has been one the best additions to my library. The math reviews are really insightful and his explanations are easy to follow.
