In a biography by Lisa Moore, Elie Weisel is a political activist, professor, and novelist. He is an author and Holocaust survivor who wrote 57 books, both fiction and non-fiction, based on his experiences as a prisioner in Nazi concentration camps.

After a car accident, he had to stay in the United States past his visa. He was offered citizenship to resolve the problem. He has been given many awards, including the Nobel Peace Prize in 1986.
