Shaksper: The Soliloquy

Rate this book
Homage to you, David, for you have certainly brought about "an achieved new form" in the seventy-five sections of Shaksper . This work is surely sui generis and should get widespread recognition, if it can be approached and appreciated by editors and critics. This great poem surely is the apogee of your long and amazingly productive creative output. Congratulations and plaudits, David, this is a triumph! R. VIRGIL ELLIS
[Wisconsin poet and Multi-Media Artist] Your device of Shakespeare quotations, step by step through the plays of his life, is brilliant and very effective. And daring, for you pose your own lines over and against Shakespeare's own amazing lines. Shakespeare, of course, comes off very well-what astonishingly wonderful passages these familiar excerpts are. But, astonishingly, so does Swartz, Shakespeare's elaborator. ALLAN BRICK
[Quaker activist] The poem is a dramatic monologue which attempts to convey the mind of our greatest dramatist. It is HIS soliloquy. It is the soliloquy of Shakespeare in our century.
