Jean Stone, the bestselling author of Off Season, weaves the extraordinary story of three cousins bound forever by the family fortune they share–and the family secrets they don’t dare reveal....Mary Beth, Nikki, and Gabrielle have little in common except the vast Atkinson fortune they inherited. Growing up amidst the splendor of Manhattan town houses and summers on Martha’s Vineyard, they’ve all learned the hard way that money can buy everything–except happiness. Marked by a summer tragedy they’ve all tried to forget, each woman has struggled to find her own way to cope with the secrets of her past. Now Mary Beth is a pillar of the New York social scene, buying designer clothing and priceless jewels that even she cannot afford. Nikki searches for peace on the Vineyard, pouring her inheritance into endless charity work. And Gabrielle hoards her money in a Swiss bank account, safe from the husband who knows nothing of her wealth. But when their trusted executor disappears with their money, the cousins come together once again to find him. For each woman, regaining her fortune has a different meaning–and will come at a different price. And in the end they’ll learn that no one’s secrets can stay hidden forever–not even the truth of what really happened that terrible day so many summers ago....From the Paperback edition.

Ok so this is one of my favorite books of my favorite genre...Chick Lit. Not sure what that says about me. It is about a richey family that has all sorts of issues and has a bit of a mystery mixed in. Makes you feel like your family is great issues and all!

I have had this book for awhile and just pulled it off the shelf two days ago. It started out a bit slow, alot of characters were introduced, it was hard to remember everyone. But wow! After chapter one, the book took off and I could barely put it down! Another NYC book, which are my favorite. It had money, mystery, love, intrigue and forgiveness. It ended particularly well, with a nice twist. Excellent read!

I enjoyed this book, b/c I love any type of beach fiction. I would recommend this book, however, there were no paragraph breaks when the scene changed. This was confusing at times. I don't know if this was a Kindle issue or the publisher's. I've never come across this in any other book. I really did enjoy it though.

This was a fun read. The characters were interesting, but the story did not have a ton of depth to it, but for a casual read, I enjoyed it and it went quick. It would be a good beach read or a weekend special.

Good read about the standard cliche, "money is not able to buy happiness".

What a soap opera in the middle of everything though! From Nikki hooking up with her uncle Mack to Gabrielle's daughter not being Stefano's, to Mary Beth cheating on her husband with her trainer Hank and Eric (MB husband) having an affair with her best friend, Roxanne.

I'm so very glad that the story lines were all wrapped up at the end. I would hate for anything to be left hanging in this novel!

Three rich cousins find out their trust fund is gone. The book is about the affect this loss had on each, about their family, and about their lives. What I enjoyed about the book was not necessarily the plot (and there was some corniness), but that new things kept occurring. Like opening a box of sealed secrets and slowly opening each one up. The reader doesn't really know what is coming next. All and all, it was really a soap opera, but I enjoyed it

Great love story with a few twists and turns, always enjoy a book that doesn't follow the "norm" and throws a person off a bit. Makes it a real page turner. Think I've found another new author to add to my "like" list.
