AUGUST IS HELP-A-PET month! The Scouts decide that the best way to help homeless animals is to raise money at a yard sale. It's going to mean a lot of hard work. But, in the end, the Pee Wees might be lucky enough to get a pet of their own!
Born on May 6th in St. Paul, Minnesota, Judy Delton lived in her hometown for most of her life. She wrote more than one hundred books for children, including the popular Pee Wee Scouts series, which sold more than seven million copies. Her writing was often compared to Beverly Cleary or Carolyn Haywood for her ability to capture the essence of childhood.
For many years, Ms. Delton taught writing classes in her home. Today, those writers are having their own books published and remember her forthright instruction and critique with appreciation. Many writers have benefited from her handbook, The 29 Most Common Writing Mistakes and How to Avoid Them.
Ms. Delton had four children and decided to quit teaching so she could stay home and raise them. Writing prolifically was her way of supporting her family. She died very suddenly of a blood infection in December of 2001. Her legions of friends and all those she taught were greatly saddened.
The title is Lucky Dog Days because the dogs are lucky, but at the end of the book, the last dog is named Lucky. In the end they were bidding off dogs to raise money for a new shelter. In the beginning the dogs got walked by the Pee Wee Scouts. They were trying to raise money. So they were selling stuff people didn't want anymore. This book was good and I would recommend it to my friends. - Jack, age 10.

this book you can read in just a hour. This book was a book that I personaly would no recomend only because I was not intrested in the topic because it is just not how the sale work. and because the author really did not intraduce me to the characters she just went right into the story like I knew what was going on. So overall this book was ok because on the authors choice of the format of the book.
it should surprise no one who knows me that I would enjoy a book about helping puppies. this was a cute story about fundraising. not sure a communal puppy would realistically work.
