This book is fantastic. It was very hard to get my hands on as I have periodically scoured the internet for years to find it and finally did when the author’s website did a small reprint. I honestly would not recommend it in its entirety to the lay person unless there is extensive prior knowledge of the endocrine system. In other words, it’s not particularly accessible. I look forward to reading the author’s other book, Nutrition for Women, because (on flipping through it) it seems like a more accessible resource that I can recommend to others. Docking a star for how many times the author mentioned something completely fascinating to me and didn’t have a citation or another resource to further investigate. The book also could have been organized in a more efficient manner. For example, the final chapter titled “A Logical Diet” would have served the book much better as one of the opening chapters! I will say, the topical chapters at the end on seed oils, iron, coconut oil, and sunlight were some of the best concise essays on the topics that I have come across. Overall, I’m very glad to have this book in my library, and the knowledge it has afforded me will be sure to extend into my community.
