Great Book with excellent pictures and details but is lacking in the following:

I searched for of any kind of berries and found nothing. Locally we have a blackberry walled a dewberry and it is not to be found. This book is better suited to landscaping than a guide to the choices you have here in Texas you might be looking for in gardening as part of your landscaping.

Many things are listed in Latin in the index without the normal name by them which would be MUCH more helpful. Book needs an update since over 10 years old and would be great if it simply came with a UR code or website to access updated information but that is really more wishful thinking.

Thanks for a great book and I hope you can make one inclusive of plants used for beds, walls, pots, and other landscaping designs that are dual use for kitchen and beautiful landscapes.

A great reference for Texas gardening. The authors break down the state, region by region, and give loads of advice on what plants will thrive in your particular climate. Their focus is on choosing well adapted native plants that will require a minimum of watering, pesticides, fertilizers and upkeep. This is great for the environment, but also great for you if you're like me and want to put a plant in the ground and forget about it.

Inherited this book from a friend who left Texas. Wow it's part coffee table picture book, part get your hands dirty in the garden, and ID center. Contains a yard planning section and profiles on a hundreds of trees, shrubs and flowers.
