I loved this book! Its light-hearted, charming, fun and doesn't take itself too seriously. It's filled with little hints and lovely illustrations, all of which add to its appeal. Nothing serious here. If you've ever dreamed of Paris, this book is for you.

Makes me want to fly to Paris immediately!!
Picking this up at the library was a no-brainer since Emily In Paris is my guilty pleasure show. It has some references to the characters and events of the Netflix series, but acts more like a simple and basic guide to the City Of Lights.
The book is written in Emily's voice, which is surprisingly authentic as I can imagine her saying the exact same things, including the grating overuse of hashtags. We are introduced to her favourite dining and shopping spots, flea markets, luxury brands etc. I feel like a lot of these are on the upscale and posher end, so I do wonder how practical they would be for budget-conscious travellers.
I enjoyed all the glossy photos of the show's characters and those of Paris, though I wish there were more of them and less text (or at least larger fonts). After all, this book is all about the sights and senses...
I definitely would like to circle back on Emily's recommendations if I ever have a trip to Paris planned and check them out for myself. So much wanderlust from this cute little read.

Emily in Paris is about as close as I get to a guilty pleasure, since it is undoubtedly a giant dose of camp ridiculousness, but call me ringarde, because I can’t help but be swept up by its love affair (and cultural critique) with Paris! This authorized companion is like a guidebook to Paris that tells us about some of Emily’s favourite (and least favourite!) things about the City of Light, all wrapped up in a scrapbook-lite graphic style and narrated with Emily’s signature sense of humour and hashtags. She gives us fashion advice, takes us into the office at Savoir, and we get to visit some of her favourite Parisian haunts from the show and elsewhere, which winds up being a fun exploration of Paris as well as a rehash of familiar elements from the show. The book doesn’t quite hit that note of perfection for me unfortunately, as I felt like it needed a little bit more polish and little bit more of that signature Emily sparkle. The narration wasn’t quite as snappy as the real Emily (auditoral tone is often everything!), and while I liked the mishmash of film stills, fashion-style illustrations, and other photographs, the visuals and text combined didn’t quite jive. Sure, the book was definitely aiming for a (light) travel guide aesthetic, but I feel like the real Emily’s book would have spoken far more loudly - in terms of colour, imagery, and personality!

I was expecting a lot more. It doesn't have much to do with the series. Not told in detail, descriptions are missing. However, it is easy and quick to read. On account of the differences with the series, this book is a good guide to spending time in Paris.

Написана на разбираем език с прости изречения, "Емили в Париж" е едно развлекателно четиво, което лесно се чете за няколко часа или 2-3 дни, ако го карате по-бавно.
Книгата има много общо със случващото се в първи сезон, който според мен и най-сполучлив. :)
Романът не навлиза много надълбоко в света на героите, но като цяло е приятен.

I was disappointed that this book is more a guide to Paris than to the show. My favorite part was whenever Emily referred to it directly. I also enjoyed the photos and drawings on most of the pages. I hope we get a book more focused on the show after seasons 3 and 4.

Έμαθα για την “Emily in Paris” πρώτη φορά από την σειρά του Netflix την οποία και αγάπησα από το πρώτο λεπτό. Διαβάζοντας το βιβλίο, είχα την ευκαιρία να θυμηθώ ξανά όλες τα αστεία περιστατικά και τις ρομαντικές στιγμές της Emily, καθώς και να ξαναζήσω μαζί της όλες τις δυσκολίες και τις αναποδιές με τις οποίες βρέθηκε αντιμέτωπη.
Δεν υπάρχει τίποτα στο βιβλίο το οποίο να μην είχε αναφερθεί στη σειρά και αυτό ήταν κάτι που εκτίμησα και που μου άρεσε. Ωστόσο, επειδή είχα δει πρώτα τη σειρά… Στα μάτια μου το βιβλίο «έχασε». Όπως και να το κάνουμε, υπάρχει διαφορά στο να βλέπεις με τα μάτια σου το Παρίσι και όλα τα φοβερά μέρη τα οποία επισκέφτηκε η Emily με το να διαβάζεις για αυτά… Ίσως βέβαια αν οι περιγραφές ήταν λιγάκι πιο λεπτομερείς, να δημιουργούσαν εξίσου ζωντανές εικόνες!
Αυτό το βιβλίο, με έκανε να σκεφτώ τη φίλη μου την Ελεάνα η οποία βρίσκεται εδώ και κάποια χρόνια για σπουδές στο Παρίσι και με έκανε να σκέφτομαι, τί περιπέτειες και τί δυσκολίες μπορεί να αντιμετώπισε η ίδια σε μια ξένη χώρα! Έχω συνδέσει τόσο τη σειρά, όσο και το βιβλίο μαζί της.
Είναι σίγουρα ένα ανάγνωσμα χαλαρό και ανάλαφρο, Η γραφή είναι απλή και ρέει ευχάριστα και γρήγορα. Το βιβλία μπορεί να διαβαστεί οποιαδήποτε στιγμή, ωστόσο γνώμη μου είναι, να το διαβάσετε πριν δείτε τη σειρά έτσι ώστε να μην χάσετε τη μαγεία από κανένα από τα δύο!
Κάτι άλλο που λάτρεψα στο βιβλίο, είναι οι φωτογραφίες!

Emily in París es la primera novela de la serie de Netflix con el mismo nombre y hace referencia a la primera temporada.

En este caso Emily nos cuenta su nueva vida en París, su nuevo trabajo y sus dificultades para adaptarse a la ciudad.
El idioma, sus compañeros de trabajo y la gente que va conociendo no se lo ponen nada fácil.
Hasta que poco a poco va entendiendo la cultura parisina y aparece su vecino dispuesto a ayudarla a integrarse.

El libro es fiel a la serie por completo y ha sido todo un acierto leerlo antes de ponerme con la segunda temporada. También puede leerse sin ver la serie.
Lo que más me ha gustado del libro es que transmite por completo el buen rollo de la serie, es divertido, ligero de leer, en una rato está leído, tiene capítulos muy cortos y te deja con una sonrisa en la boca y con ganas de más.
Respecto a la protagonista, igual que en la serie, desprende alegría, positivismo, pese a que todo le sale mal siempre encuentra la solución para volver a sonreír.
Debo decir que disfruto mucho con este tipo de historias que nos dejan una sonrisa mientras las leemos.
Un punto positivo de esta historia (tanto en el libro como en la serie), es la ambientación. Se disfruta mucho de todos los rincones que menciona Emily de París.

Is this brilliant? Mais non! But it's adorable and filled with info about Paris. It's a little bizarre that it freely mixes info about real Parisian stores, restaurants, etc., with the make-believe ones from the TV show, as if it were all real. But if you know the show, you can ignore the made-up ones.
I think it's hilarious that it's written as if by Emily, with her very limited command of French. Even the subtitle of the book: "Paris, J'Adore!" which translates to "Paris, I love!" It should've either been "J'adore Paris!" ("I love Paris!") or "Paris, Je t'adore!" ("Paris, I love you!"). But Emily would've bungled that, and so goes the title.
There are some genuinely good recommendations for places to visit. Even if you hate the silliness, it's worth a quick read.

Историята много наподобява “Дяволът носи Прада”. Много леко и завладяващо четиво за света на модата и различните брандове. Има много забавни и любовни моменти. Очаквах да е нещо по-глудкаво и да е за тинейджъри, но останах впечатлена. Много ми хареса и не можех да оставя книгата, докато не я прочета до край. Свърши малко с отворен край, предполага се да има продължение, но до колкото знам книга няма, но в сериала си има продължение. Определено ако ви се чете нещо леко и приятно, това е книгата за вас.

I really enjoyed the pictures from the show and the illustrations. However, I thought this book would have to do more with the show Emily In Paris but instead it just felt like a travel book on Paris. I would recommend this book to people traveling to Paris more than I would recommend it to Emily In Paris fans.

I won a free copy from Goodreads giveaway. The book is a good, interesting guide for young people who love fashion, trends and a desire to visit Paris. The book is full of pictures and wonderful recommendations on rules, etiquette, food, restaurants, hotels and everything Paris.

I loved this book! It was very exciting and beautiful. I have learned a lot about Paris…I like the period about fashion and fashion tips. In the book there are a lot of useful and interesting thing about the city. When I will go to Paris I will bring this book myself and I will read AGAIN!!!

This is exactly what it says it is - a companion book to the show. I love all the photos, helpful tips (as if they came from Emily herself!) and French phrases. Most fans of the Netflix series will enjoy it!
