It's hard to believe that some of these things ever seemed like good ideas to anyone -- and then I remember that guy at work who would do most of them without the use of intoxicating beverages and realize that some people are just like that. The historical things make sense, because they are known to be facts and people are known to be stupid. The list of stupid ideas are things you know people must have done, but you can't completely believe it.
