This is the last book by Paula Sharp I seem to be able to read, sadly, although I do have a translation
on the way and may be able to dig up some short stories. All her books came out in the ‘90s to great acclaim and it beats me why they are out of print.

I am not usually a fan of short story anthologies but this one was great. Each story stood well alone but together painted an excellent and cohesive picture of the family dynamics and small town life. I really enjoyed it.

This book is a compilation of random stories focused around the two main characters, Netta and Stanley. The stories in this book were interesting, I’ll give it that, but I never really got the point. By the end I was still really confused as to why these stories were important or what they were trying to tell us.
