Nora Adamyan

Nora spend her childhood, youth and labor formation of the writer in Transcaucasia , therefore in many of her stories people of different nationalities act.
In 1927‒1930. studied at Baku University. From 1938 to 1945 she worked in the editorial office of the Yerevan Russian-language newspaper "Kommunist".
She began to engage in literary work, mainly translations, in 1939. Since 1953 she has been publishing her own prose and in 1954 her first collection, "Stories", was published.
The main theme of the writer is moral problems and the life of her contemporaries with their joys and sorrows. In the stories " Red Light " and " Zero Three " the author creates vivid and memorable images of medical workers, conveys the atmosphere of their purposeful, intense work. In The Second Wife , a dam construction engineer, despite personal setbacks, fights passionately for his ideas. The protagonist of the novel " New Neighbor " - an imperceptible, seemingly, person - shows remarkable responsiveness to people who are little familiar to him.
Nora Adamyan's works were published in the publishing house " Soviet Writer ", in the magazines " Ogonyok ", " New World ", "Moscow"and "Banner" ; translated into English, French, Italian, Chinese, Armenian and other languages. Her own translations are focused mainly on the works of modern Armenian literature ("Lalvar Hunt" by V. Mirakyan , "My friend Lorik" by O. Shiraz and others).
