Well I don't just read fiction. This one I reviewed for my class on Conflict Managelent. It is a keeper. Thankfully I had the long plane flights to devote to reading A LOT!!!!!!!

The review says: With a strong theoretical and research base, Managing Conflict Through Communication provides the most complete coverage of the study of conflict available on the market. Each chapter builds on the previous to help the reader better understand and deal effectively with conflict. The extensive use of narratives and case studies make the material accessible and interesting. Practical applications of concepts through discussion questions and exercises throughout the book provide a basis for group discussion. [close:]

I totally agree and am going to add it to my class.

College textbook material regarding conflict and possible techniques to help manage it. Good book with beneficial techniques. One thing to remember: resolving conflict is always easier when both parties play by the rules. The book offers the techniques in a simple, matter of fact method that would not easily correspond to real life situations unless both parties new the principles prior to their interaction. Good food for thought. Take the suggestions and tuck them away in your toolbox for future use.

This text is used in the MA in Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation at ACU.
I found Cahn & Abigail's teachings to be solid, usable information and I constantly refer to it in other classes and at work. It is well written, effectively organized. My only frustration with it is that it isn't available in electronic form, only as a large paperback.
