This is an excellent book for anyone who wants to know about breeding horses. It is a "must" read if you are actually going to breed. Although it is a textbook, it is full of very valuable information. It is not a book you are going to sit down and read cover to cover but it is an awesome reference source. It explains everything from the stallion, mare, pregnancy, foaling, and foals first few months of life.

Excellent resource for horsemen and horsewomen who enter the breeding field. Covers it all through the foal's first year including weaning. This book is not really easy reading for the novice but, rather, aimed at the professional farm manager. This should be in every breeding establishments library.
