Short and intense, this story is about two young men who were separated four years ago but never lost touch despite the physical distance.

When Lee's mother, who abused him when he was younger, dies it is Ryan's job to let Lee know. The description of his fears and the intensity of the reunion is touching and real. I liked the fact that Lee took his time to digest the news and come to terms with his ambivalent feelings. Ryan's patience is hard-won but serves them both well.

Lee and Ryan come together after a 4 year apart hiatus away from each other. Apart due to circumstances against them. Tragic that it turned out that way for them.

But... I couldn't understand in this was they both kept in touch with each other, but didn't connect on the physical level and communications remained verbal. During those years they were adults so nothing should have been in the way, although Lee needed to 'find' himself. Their reunion was swift, quick and made up for part of their lost time together which wasn't so bad, but still hadn't made up for most of their lost years.

Even though I enjoyed this intimate story and mind you it's well written I felt it wasn't enough. I would have liked to have read more on these two dudes. More of what they did while apart in those four years. More of the men they are. Just more in general.

This short, first book in a series was a good start. I liked both Ryan and Lee though they seemed to be opposites. The beginning was a bit confusing as I didn't know what Ryan had to deliver to Lee personally. The conflicting emotions that ran through the story has me hungry for the next book.
