It's August 1977 in New York City and the weird sculptor Moss Alex Meinhardt lies dead at the foot of an ugly gargoyle he's half completed. Natalia Grey's demon-hunter father is also dead, and his new partner, the astonishingly sexy Carson Connors, can't remember how it happened.
Carson isn't sure what role he has played in Natalia's father's death, but after one look at Natalia, he does know that guilty or not, he's doomed.
Natalia must take up her father's sword and her heritage as a demon hunter and figure out what happened, for the gargoyles Meinhardt carved have life they shouldn't have without the help of dark forces. Dark forces she and Carson must defeat ... once the gargoyles have risen, of course. But the night is hours away yet ...
I'm Teal Ceagh, writer of erotic urban fantasy and paranormal romances for Ellora's Cave.
My real name is Tracy Cooper-Posey and you can actually find me hanging out on my other Good Reads account under my real name (http://www.goodreads.com/TracyCooper-...) where I write erotic romantic suspense and erotic historical romances for Ellora's Cave as well.
About Teal Ceagh ****************
Teal Ceagh was created in mid-2009 to allow me to write wildly different types of erotic romances and market them without disrupting my already established readers. I write romantic suspense and historical romances for Ellora's Cave.
Teal Ceagh writes the hottest of MMF ménage paranormal romance and urban fantasies that Ellora’s Cave have to offer, and that’s a pretty extreme jump from romantic suspense. I didn’t want to readers to get whiplash crossing the two genres, and having two separate pen names makes marketing a lot easier.
Besides, I wanted to see if the writing stood on its own. (It does…boy does it ever!)
By the end of 2009, however, disruptions in my personal life meant I couldn't keep up with three blogs, three Facebook accounts, three sets of everything (I’d also been running a marketing business on the side, too). So I brought Teal Ceagh "out," which allowed me to bring her to my home blog and melding the two sets of books and so forth. That also meant telling the world who Teal really was, which would make my life considerably simpler.
Lots of people ask about the name, Teal Ceagh. Actually, it's still really my name. It's my intials: TLC. If you pronounce them, you're saying Teal Ceagh. "Ceagh" is pronounced "see" and it's Irish.
This was a fairly short read which I would have loved to have been longer. To me, it seemed like it could have been a full length novel but all the important parts got taken out and made into this little read. I enjoyed it, but I do think it had the potential to be a much better book.
3 stars Back in 2014 & 2015 Tracy Cooper-Posey was my Go To author for Adult PNR, Sci-fi and Fantasy books. Always guaranteed to have hot & steamy intimate sex scenes and interesting mc's etc. I loved her books. This one is very Very short. While it is interesting and contains yummy steamy scenes, the story itself needed a lot more. If she had made it longer with more story line etc, it would have been a 4 star read for me. But truthfully, there was so much missing from the story that I never read anymore of this series. I have read other series of hers and loved them. I do need to finish some of them. She is actually a Damn Good story teller. But this one didn't show off her true talent, IMO.
I received Carson's Night in exchange for a fair & honest review.
I’ve let my opinion on this one simmer a while, and I’m still not sure exactly how I feel about it. I’m thinking I need the whole picture before I can truly decide. (Meaning the rest of the books in the series.)
This isn’t the first Tracey Cooper-Posey book that I’ve read. I read and really enjoyed Dead Again a few months ago. This book is nothing like that one, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. It’s just a different thing.
You know from reading my reviews in the past that novellas to me are hit or miss. Most of the ‘misses’ are because I needed more time to get to know the characters before I felt emotionally invested in anything that may or may not happen between them or to them. I think that may have been my issue with Carson’s Night. Everything happened so fast I didn’t have time to catch up. There were also a lot of characters to get to know in this one – at least from a novella’s standpoint.
After looking into this series a little more I realized that this is really a set-up for the Stonebrood Saga. That made me feel a little bit better about where things were left at the end of Carson’s Night. I liked the characters, the story was interesting and the warning for this one was definitely appropriate (really – pay attention!) I’m hoping that Beauty’s Beasts, the next book in the saga, is a little bit longer and allows me to get to know the characters just a bit better.
So far all the books that I have read by TCP have been great 4 star reads. Carson's Night is only "okay", I enjoyed the characters, Tally and Carson were very interesting and the chemistry between them was very hot. I would love to know more about Nick & Damian and imagine we will get more about them in coming books, but I also found it a bit rushed and some parts just to short and confusing. I know it is a short story and a lot has to be packed into few words, but towards the end as I was reading it felt like it jumped around a bit and I was missing something. I had to go back and reread and was still not sure...
That aside, it seems like it will be a very interesting series and will definitely read the next one.
This book was provided by the Author/Publisher via NetGalley for an honest review
First story in a new series. Natalia Grey's father has been murdered his assistant Carson Connor's has no memory of the evening, so he's under suspicion. Natalia's attracted to this man. With the assistance of her two vampire friends she hopes to find the truth. Gargoyles are being brought to life, causing mayhem. They need to find out who's responsible.
This is a hot little read if quite short in length.but this author is talented enough to make this work. I liked the characters and the sex scenes were hot. First in a new series and well worth reading. ARC courtesy of the author
The foundation of the story could have been great, but unfortunately it was just a mirage to cover up all the flat sex scenes. Don't get me wrong I enjoy some smexy scenes but these were just blahhhh... Not much build up, I felt no connection. There was a story in there somewhere that could have been really good, but I don't think that a good story was the intention.
This is a sexy meeting of two interesting characters with a little mystery thrown in for good measure. This book ticks all my boxes: I'm a big fan of books that concentrate on the interaction between characters whether that be conversation, conflict or sex so hot it's a conflagration!! We are introduced to characters and told of action and adventure that involves them, but the book doesn't get bogged down in the blow-by-blow accounts of fight scenes or events leading to the snippet of time we share with the main characters. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series, Beauty's Beasts!
To all over the place. I was not following this book at all because it wasn't put together well. I will not be continuing with this series. I'm glad I read this novella first instead of buying the first true book in this series.
Natalia “Tally” Grey is a hunter; she has been trained by her vampire friends Nick and Damian since she was a little girl. So Tally feels totally at home in the supernatural world among all kinds of creatures. Her world is about to change when Nick shows up in the middle of the night and tells her that her father, who’s also a hunter, has been killed.
Tally hurries to her father and finds a brutal murder scene, knowing that some demons and gargoyles are involved. But her father’s handsome partner Carson Connors is also there and he don’t seem to remember a thing about what happened. Tally seems to be attracted to this stranger in a way no other man was able to. But can she trust him to be on her side or has he something to do with her father’s death? The only thing she knows is that Nick and Damian have her back.
Carson’s Night by Teal Ceagh is the first book in her Guardian Bonds Series. It’s a short story, but you can say this novella is a taste for more, it’s hot and steamy. No large amount of information or plots, but a great story full of danger and sensual scenes.
The chemistry between Tally and Carson is there from the moment they laid eyes on each other. Even though they are in a touch situation of finding out if Carson has something to do with her father’s death, they will not hold back on their attraction to each other.
I enjoy reading this book, the main characters Tally and Carson are great for each other, and they found their match. But I have to say I’m a little more interested in Nick and Damian. I know they are both vampires and each others lovers, but there is more and I want to find out. Hopefully their story will be told in one of the future novels.
If you are a huge fan of erotica romance with a little twist of paranormal creatures, then this novella is the right choice for you. You won’t be disappointed.
Tracy Cooper - Posey writes terrifically hot erotic paranormal romance! Yes it's erotica but it's also a perfect blend of romance , paranormal and story. I stumbled upon this authors work quite by chance and I am so pleased I did. This novella is quite short so I do not wish to give too many spoilers but it is the story of how Natalia and Carson first meet. Carson found out first hand about demons when his wife was murdered by one and Natalia has always known they exist as her father is a demon hunter. When Natalia first sees Carson it's in the very worst of circumstances, he's found with her fathers dead body! Carson has no memory of what happened but he does know that he was the partner of Natalia's fathers Dark forces are at work and magic is being used to bring Gargoyles to life. Can Carson help Natalia find closure for her fathers death or does he pose an even bigger threat? Who did actually murder Natalia's father ? And can they ever be safe? This night together will take them both on a journey full of passion and horror! This was a fun read. Lots of hot sex and vampires too! The vampires in this short story are really intriguing and I'd love to read more about them. A very nasty villein and a surprising amount of emotion . If you like erotic tales set in a paranormal setting then this is for you. Very short so a 4 from me
I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in place of an honest review.
Natalia Grey who likes to be called Tally gets woke up in the middle of the night when Damian comes to wake her up. She knows something is wrong. Damian and Nick are vampire lovers who have been together a long time. They have mainly raised her since her father is a demon hunter and has to travel a lot for his job. When she finds out that there are gargoyles, thanks to a demon. She knows that her job that she has to take on will be even worse. That is until she meets her fathers partner Carson Conners.
Carson can't seem to remember what happened the night his partner died. Seems that something or someone has taken his memory away. He never knew that his partner had a daughter. Once he sees her he knows that he has to have her. He has never felt anything like it before. He also wants to protect Tally. Since he can't remember what happened he thinks it's better to leave her.
I will warn you that there is some BDSM and some sex toys involved with this book. I think that it just gives the book an added special touch. You can see the special bond that Tally has with Damian and Nick. You can tell that it's nothing sexual, it is the bond that a parent has with their child. I can't wait to read the next book in this series. I just want more.
Vampires, hunters, and demons. Oh, my! I do enjoy a good romp with characters that bring the badassery. As short as this book is, you get a good feel for both the world and the characters in it. And, yes, those characters are full of badassery.
Tally and Carson have immediate chemistry. It hits them out of the blue and it doesn't let go until they indulge themselves. Carson's memory loss of the previous night puts an interesting spin on their relationship. Really, Tally shouldn't trust him and yet she does. She trusts him enough to let him have his wicked, wicked way with her. I must say, Carson does wicked well!
Meanwhile, I am... intrigued by Nick and Damian. The two of them played a big part in making Tally the woman she is in this book. They raised her while her father was out taking down demons and I'm excited to see we'll see more of them in book 2. You can never have enough sexy vampires, in my opinion.
There's a lot of goodness going on here between the vampires and the demon hunters and the sexy times. Book 2 looks like it's going to be an interesting ride. I like interesting rides.
The first book in the Stonebrood Saga is an intriguing and fascinating erotic romance.
Tally was raised and trained as a demon hunter and when her father is killed and his partner, Carson, has no memory of what happened she is called in to investigate. When she learns that gargoyles carved by a dead sculptor has come to life, she must join together to fight dark forces, not such a hardship when she gets to explore her growing attraction to the sexy demon hunter.
This fast paced plot intrigues the reader with spine tingling tension, unique elements and lots of red hot passion. The author uses vivid imagery and intense details to capture the imagination and bring this story to life. The strong bewitching characters are easy to relate to and scorching sex scenes singe the reader with the turn of every page.
The chemistry between the couple is obvious, so it’s not really surprising that the couple’s relationship escalates rather quickly with some light BDSM, anal sex, use of sex toys and frank sexual language. Once again this author continues to captivate and arouse the reader with her wonderful erotic paranormal worlds. Of course it was a little too short for me, I didn’t want it to end so I can’t wait to read the next one in this saga.
I really enjoyed this book. It was full of the paranormal (which I love) but it had a new take on it. I have never read a book where gargoyles play a part let alone are not the good guys. Plus it was full of steamy and kinky sex scenes. The plot is great and hooked me from page one. I can’t wait for book 2 in series!! I also am really hoping Nick and Damian get their own story. (wink wink)
I really liked Tally. She was strong and a fighter. I liked that she went right after her father’s killer. She didn’t break down and cry or give up. At first I think she was hesitant to get involved but Nick told her to go for it. With his encouragement she went for it.
I liked Carson because he was also a fighter. Being a hunter wasn’t something he that ran in his family. He was kinda forced into it after his wife’s death. He tried to do what was best for Tally even when it wasn’t what was best for him.
This is one smoking hot book!! You may need a fan when you read this book. The scenes are extremely well written and you won’t find any boring sex scenes in this book. If you like paranormal books then I suggest you put this on your to-be-read list.
I didn't realize I hadn't written a review on Carson's Night after leaving my rating. This is one of the first books I read by the author and I immediately fell in love with her story telling abilities. This novella has gargoyles brought to life by a demon, vampires, Nick and Damian, who have helped raise and train a human demon hunter, Natalia (Tally). A hunter (Carson) who whose found alive at the scene of Tally's fathers death, but can't remember what he had to do with it. What we learn from their first meeting is the instant attraction they have to each other, no matter how much they deny it. They both discover the truth of the gargoyles and the demon and work together, along with Nick and Damian, to destroy them. Along the way Natalia and Carson finally accept their feelings for each other and burn up the pages with their heat. If your a fan of the paranormal and hot and sensual love, this story is definitely for you.
My Rating: 4 Growing up all Tally wanted was a "normal" life but knowing who and what her father was, she knew it would never happen. Waking to the shocking news that her father was murdered by a gargoyle and his new partner does not remember anything, throws Tally into the supernatural world. Meeting her father's partner, Carson, not only pushes her life into a tailspin but also her hormones. Working together Carson and Tally set out to find the demon that woke the gargoyles after they had been asleep for centuries. Fighting gargoyles and having wild passionate sex bring these two together and that gives each other the happiness they both so desperately needed. With help from Nick and Damian, the two vampires that raised Tally, they all set out to kill the demon and make sure the gargoyles stay in their stone forms forever. http://vampireswerewolvesfairiesohmy....
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This author's short erotic reads are always good. They are jam packed with paranormal storyline, quickly escalating romance, and sizzling hot erotica.
This new series begins with Tally, the daughter of a demon hunter who has just lost her father. Raised by vampires and trained since she was young, she is forced to pick up where her father left off. Her father's partner, Carson, is dumbstruck when he sees Tally. Love at first sight, I guess, since they almost immediately fall into bed. Unfortunately, gargoyles and demons abound, and that throws a wrench in their romantic time together. As always, I'm left wanting even more of these little gems.
Carson's Night is an original erotic paranormal short that many fans will enjoy!
Natalia just found out her father has passed away and she must take his place as a Hunter. She's not had time to morn his death or investigate. She MUST find his killer and get revenge. What she ends up getting is so much more than expected. Thanks to her long time friends Damion and Nick. She gets a push in the right direction along with some guidance and much needed back-up. But will her choices be even close to the right ones?
I really enjoyed this story. It was VERY sexy and different (I'm always looking for something different to read). But it left me overly wanting. I just hope the next in the series picks up right from where it left off!
This is an enjoyable read. As the first book in the saga, it create a good start and introduction of the subsequent character to have their own book. The story start with the death of heroine's father, Natalia. As demon hunter daughter, she is fully trained but never in action. The first time she meet with Carson, her father's partner in hunting, spark flew to the roof btw them. As they on the run from her father's killer, they have a chance to explore the chemistry btw them. As the shadow of doubt about the night of her father's death unveil, will it threaten their budding relationship? It is an appetizer of a very good paranormal saga. Enjoyed
The book was too short. Girl and her vampires find daddy dead and his partner uninjured. Instead of questioning him take him to their strong hold and she jumps him. Multiple times. No mourning goes on, by anyone. Another something something happens and they run. Throw in a marriage proposal and then we two are going after "X", and you two go after "Y" and the book ends. I think everything happens in like a 12 hour period, if that. But don't get me wrong, I want to read the next book because I want to know what happens next, and maybe it will be a little longer.
As always, Tracy Cooper-Posey weaves a great story with an erotic romance. Carson and Natalia are both demon hunters who meet the night Natalia's father is killed by gargoyles. Carson was her father's partner, and the only survivor of the attack, but he cannot remember what happened. They are attracted to each other right away, and when hey give into their passions, the sex is hot. I love reading these stories from this author, and will continue recommending her books to others.
I don't know if this is a prequel, or a short novella supporting the Stonebrood saga universe, it is very brief depicting Tally and Carson's insta-love/lust. Because I really didn't know anything about this series/author I was a bit surprised in how fast the sexual relationship began compared to how brief the story was. The world building seems interesting, iffy on future purchases of this series.
