Anyone who is curious about the nonphysical, intangible aspects of life is, on some level, a student of metaphysics. Heart-centered metaphysicians ask: What is the nature of God; What is the nature of humankind?; and What is the relationship between God and humankind? Their exploration is aimed at discerning the fundamental Truths, or Divine Ideas, that ring true for every human being, regardless of time, place and circumstance. As you expand your understanding of these principles, you will begin to experience the world differently, ultimately creating change in your outer life and circumstances. Through the understanding and compassionate application of heart-centered metaphysics, you can raise your own consciousness and at the same time contribute to an elevated consciousness in the world. This new level of awareness is our best tool for creating loving, fulfilling lives in a peaceful world. Open your heart and mind to Divine Ideas in this thought-provoking study guide. Each chapter features Summary Statements, Topics for Discussion, Thoughts for Reflection and Meditation and Suggestions for Supplementary Reading
Take this one bite at a time, would be my advice. I have had the privilege to use this as a text book through four levels of Unity SEE classes on Metaphysics. Has sparked endless fruitful discussions among our groups. Highly recommend. Don't rush though. Just take it one idea at a time and think about how it applies. Good stuff.
A simple review of Unity principals of metaphysics. This book and its companion workbook are a good introduction to putting thought and habit changing practices into a daily routine. Each chapter follows an outline starting with quotes and then simple reiterations of the primary theme.
Even though I grew up attending Unity churches, this book really clarified the philosophy upon which the Filmore's founded their initial Bible study group which expanded into a radio show and eventually a worldwide ministry. Highly recommended to anyone interested in "New-Thought" movement. The popular book, "The Secret" from several years back even quoted Charles Filmore but this one's the real deal.
