Knihu jsem sehnala, když byly synovi 4 měsíce. To najednou už tolik nespal a vyžadoval pozornost a zábavu.
A některé říkanky uvedené v knize mi přišly poněkud ujeté... Takže mně kniha určitě nepomohla.

I recommend this book for any who feel at a loss at being a Mom or have little experience babysitting or with kids.

For me, this book wasn't awful but I generally wouldn't recommend it. I felt like it was "duh" stuff, for the most part. I did learn a few things, but I also disagreed with some stuff. I didn't like how almost every exercise it says, this rewires your kid's brain and therefore is good. I did appreciate when they said, patterns is good for pre-reading. Occasionally the book said more specifically the benefit of the activities.

Parts I disagreed with- it doesn't talk about music til later. I feel that music can be started at birth. Rhythm can begin right around birth. You can tap rhythm on their legs before they can move on their own. Then they say babies can recognize different languages at day 4, but doesn't mention any language exercises until the baby is several months old.

I got some good ideas, but for anyone who has experience I wouldn't do more than skim through the ideas that stick out to you. I also wasn't fond of all the rhymes, but most people can come up with their own games to teach the same concepts.

A lot of the activities in this are probably things that come naturally to many parents, though I found a few that I probably would never have thought of. I really liked the explanation of what skills each activity develops in the child. But there weren’t enough pictures that actually showed the activities. For some activities, I couldn’t figure out exactly what the text was talking about and a picture would have been very helpful.

Borrowed from the public library.

Eh. Might pick this up again as a parent with a baby rather than just reading up before baby arrives. The premise is good, but the execution seems somewhat lacking. The activities are pretty basic and there is little explanation on development. On the other hand, in the potentially sleep-deprived state of a new parent, this book may offer all that anyone can handle. I guess I'll try again when baby arrives!

A fun book of ideas of different games to play and toys to purchase to stimulate the mind of your child. Many of the games mentioned here, such as peekaboo, stacking toys, body movement games and singing are said to help the child with their future learning. There are more than 140 games which are suitable for children from infants to 3 years old.

i liked it the authers got right to the point and ideas without a lot of self congratulatory introduction. Easy to read in short bursts with an infant; simple ideas that built upon older ideas as the ages progressed. I plan to check it out again as baby gets older to keep the ideas fresh in my mind...

this book must be important I read it twice, once 3 years ago and just recently
I like how most of the ideas are not costly, break down by development age is very helpful.
