Reading Seidel takes on an even more ridiculous air when recited in a remote mountain cabin at 9500 feet, in sub-zero weather, with a case of beer.

Dazzling. Seidel is one of my favorite poets. As one of the blurbs on the back of the book says, "In American poetry today there is no one with his sheer ambition, comprehensive sense of our times, sophistication, nerve and skill".
