All her books are well worth reading

This is a strange book and I freely admit it's not for everyone. I had no idea what this book was when I picked it up. I figured it was a book about finding your soulmate, but that's not what it is. This book is about raising your vibration and increasing your capacity to love.
It's written more in prose than essay form, written in such a way as to provide a meditative experience. It's powerful, beautiful, and rich with symbolism and imagery. It's basically an upper chakra meditation (heart, crown, third-eye) that incorporates working with spirit guides and other souls.
It's long been one of my all-time favorite books because it was an introduction to a wild and completely different spiritual path for me at the time when I read it back in the late 90s. I was going through a spiritual crisis, and it was one of a handful of books I'd read around that time that changed the way I look at spirituality and religion in general, so it will always hold a special place for me. It's the first book I read by this author and since then I've read and enjoyed the rest. But you always remember your first, am I right?
Looking back 20 years later, I've become more jaded and cynical. I've been let down and disappointed by groups and individuals who claim to walk the spiritual path, whether they follow traditional Judeo-Christian faiths or if they're more aligned with New Thought, Metaphysics, or New Age beliefs. This book makes no assumptions, it just speaks in simple language that hits you right in the soul. It represents a time in my life that was simpler, and yet at the same time, was a tempest of confusion and desperation.
I should probably read it again.

This book was highly repetitive, but I guess that's the point. I didn't resonate with some of the mediations in which you go to heaven and hang out with a bunch of souls and "The elders" or whatever they're called. But, some of the stuff in this book was actually helpful for a person trying to find self love.

This book is one i couldn't put down and thought is was good to get a better understanding of a interesting teaching on the soul and love in general.

Perhaps my heart chakra is super blocked but I found this book to be extremely repetitive and annoying. Also, it was not written with any sensitivity towards people coming from backgrounds with abusive families and barely any friends. Yes, I forgive my family, but it is simply not possible for those people to actually be loving and supportive of me so certain passages made me sad. I felt like the author was so "love and light" that they lost touch with the reality where not everyone is surrounded by super close, loving friendships. I don't even have anyone (friend or family) who checks in on me/ talks to me on a frequent, regular basis.

November 9, 2022Many helpful exercises and uplifting thoughts. I did a quick read through and I will definitely begin a second slower read through. I very much appreciate that the book recommends accept what works and makes sense for you, leave the rest. Doesn't try to push views/opinions that may not fit with your path or beliefs. I also appreciate that the work points out, making changes takes time and practice, won't happen overnight. Also it doesn't mean that once you get it, everything comes up roses, we all continue to have good and bad days, make mistakes which help us learn and grow. Not woo woo like some books, realistic and exercises that you can easily do to move forward on your personal path. Definitely well worth the time to read and many points to ponder and consider for a more joy filled life.

For those interested in connecting with higher channels, perhaps give Sanaya's book Attracting Money a go before Soul Love. I suggest because Soul Love lacks detailed, specific instruction on how to prepare for and magnetize / connect during this type of exploration. Attracting Money, however, covers every step in the preparation process. Therefore, I found Soul Love by itself a bit flat and lacking in direction, especially for those completely new to the work. I enjoyed Soul Love, and will do some of the sessions in my own fashion, but this felt a bit rushed in comparison to other texts about the Teacher Orin.

My advice to anyone reading this book is to let timing unfold as it needs to. It took two years before I could start reading the book. Followed by over five years to finish reading it. Each section read over the period of time coincides with interesting life events. The book is an experience rather than words to read.
