I loved this series when I was young - can't remember the age that I was - perhaps 11-13. I just know I loved these books!

As per usual Palmer did my head in, but I was truly disappointed in Shannon, as she is usually so insightful, but just seemed pathetic and desperate in this book.

Roommate Trouble
PLOT: A girl in the Foxes Dorm moves in with them temporarily (Muffin) because she has the roommate from hell (Lorraine). Shannon moves out because with a fifth addition the room feels crowded and it's hard to concentrate on her studies. Shannon and Lorraine get to know each other and Lorraine starts to use Shannon all the while showering her with expensive gifts. The other Foxes try to warn Shannon but Lorraine has really done a number on her. That is until Lorraine crosses the line and turns in Shannon's essay as her own.

MY THOUGHTS:
*Hands down Palmer Durand is the most SELF CENTERED, SELFISH, SHALLOW character in all the books I've read this year. Why are the other Foxes even friends with this chick? She should be happy she has a boyfriend (pen pal) that actually cares about something. Instead of putting her off it ought to be a turn on. Palmer doesn't even deserve a pen pal because I've read enough of these books and I guess they date her because she's beautiful but she has the crappiest personality. But isn't that just life for you?

I think the overall message is don't be fooled by people who "seemingly" are nice and charming and give you gifts because they might not be who you think they are. And listen to the people around you that care about you before you jump to the person's defense. People often have ulterior motives and/or have issues that you aren't aware of and in the end, they'll take that out on you. I had to learn this lesson myself the hard way. I think tho that Shannon handled Lorraine's deceit maturely and I have to applaud her for that.

RATING: 7. Great life lesson!
