A.P.J. Abdul Kalam

Abdul Kalam, was one of India's most distinguished scientists. He was an Aerospace engineer, professor, and chancellor of the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), who served as the 11th President of India from 2002 to 2007. During his term as President, he was popularly known as the People's President.
Before his term as India's president, he worked as an aeronautical engineer with DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organisation) and ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation). He was responsible for the development of India's first satellite launch vehicle,the SLV-3 He is popularly known as the Missile Man of India for his work on development of ballistic missile and space rocket technology. Kalam played a pivotal organisational, technical and political role in India's Pokhran-II nuclear test in 1998, the first since the original nuclear test by India in 1974.
He has the unique honour of receiving honorary doctorates from thirty universities and the country's three highest civilian honours - Padma Bhushan (1981), Padma Vibhushan (1990) and Bharat Ratna (1997).

Every Indian who knows how to read should read this book.Every time i read a book by Dr.Kalam, i always wonder is there anything in this world that he doesn't know.Proud that we had a president like him.

introduction:
Many of us become curious when the mangalyan sucessfully enters mars orbit in the first attempt.what is orbit?why is this project so importent?how ISRO &india became first nation to enter in mars orbit in first attemt? for common people,understanding of space&other scientific reaserch is a complex phenomenon.This book will help to give the answer of these questions!
Highlights:
1)The book is divided into three sections:
1.space
2.earth
3.life
2)further,it explains the qestion of why it is so,difficult to place a satillite in orbit. here the author has explained that how the gravity becomes main interruption.3)The author had also explained that what kind of fuel or propellents scientist need to give that required force to power the rocket4)The next section of this book is "earth",where we live.In this section,authors have detailled about the earth that how it is a unique planent in the whole galaxy.5)Here author say that india needs various "technology" which can make us fetch maximum resources with the minimum effort&natural concequences.6)The next &last section is "life".in this section the authors have talked about the importance of food. which author had explained with actual crop production&requirment. Here they have talked about how farmers need the best quailaty seeds,irrigation need the best quality seeds,irrigation system,fertilizers which help to produce sufficient amount of crop with the minimum expense.at last,the author have described the health care in india.people need to be halthy to enjoy the luxury&technology.
My Opinion:
I'm glad that i have read this book if not i would not have got such a knowaledge about space &technolgical scope in india.This book is written by two most brilliant minds of indian country.every indian who are curious about space,earth&future scope in technology must read this book.
Conclusion:
There are many things &changes which needs to start.we still need to work hart to succeed DR.A.P.J kalam's vision of 2020.
This book is writen for the common people &must admit that.I conclude my "review"by saying that Dr.kalam had dreamed for the development of nation&dreamed to make billions of people to smile & smile together.He worked for the welfare of the nation.

This book is a collection of all the problems faced by Indian and how a scientific Indian should work to overcome them. But I don't know why I feel like browsing science articles in Wikipedia. In many places, the book shows that how ignorant our Indian scientists are. Could have written better with good content.

Few special books in my shelf has a secret story other than the printed one. They are special for the way they reached me. This book is one of a kind for it was gifted to me by my brother who is the Lieutenant of Indian Navy. Receiving a book on one of India’s finest persons, from the person whom I adore was an indomitable feel.
Surprisingly, this book was an eye opener for many things around. Centrally it concentrated on Indian engineering on various fields like space, geology, chemical and human life. It cast light on facts about our country’s resources, potent, future possibilities of innovations and so on in a way that is graspable for a common lay man! It also contains excerpts of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s speeches on relevant topics.
Writing style was welcoming ,for, the vocabulary includes many scientific terms but with always a radiance of ease the knowledge seeps into the reader.
It’s nothing like a usual book any reader could pick up. Purely factual. Served rightfully for it unveiled many facts which I stayed ignorant about on things around.

I picked this book accidentally but I am glad that I have read this book otherwise I would not have got such a knowledge about the space and technological scope in India.
